Damage to mobs, maybe some buff?

I have a question about what damage a weapon should deal to mobs, given that it has about 176 damage, deals 110 damage to witches with fireballs, and about 70 damage to knights. Cerulean Blade 16 exalt no damage buffs, no Pestilence buffs/debuffs, location level 24, hero 30 with 26/42 str/int.

And I’m not saying that damage should be increased to the point where it’s one-shot or two-shot), but when before that you were calmly dealing around 120-150 damage with your weapon to the same mobs, and it seems like you’ve strengthened your stats and weapons, but the damage has decreased, it feels wrong somehow.

All weapons that scale with two stats (in your case Strength and Intelligence) get their optimal scaling only when the two stats have the same points assigned, so you would have to put 34 points into Strength and 34 points into Intelligence (instead of 26/42) to get the maximum scaling of the weapons you are using.

This probably solves most of your problem, but if the damage still seems weird let us know, I would like to check the enchantments/gems you have on your weapons and armor to do a thorough analysis of your build.

Also know that there are a few weapons that have a DPS that is strangely lower than the norm (this shouldn’t be the case for your weapon since I used it and it seemed to be okay).

Perhaps it’s all about the resistances, and let me clarify right away that I have no problems with the time it takes to kill mobs, whatever they may be, but I’m confused by the numbers themselves. In theory, everything works correctly and quite nicely (mobs with levels and progress in the storyline become stronger and more difficult to kill with starting (unlevelled) weapons), but the number itself, 80-100 damage, when you were previously dealing 120-150 damage to the same mobs, is a little confusing. Although, again, if you use a rune, it can also significantly reduce the enemy’s health bar or even kill them at full health.

As for my build, it is a bit unusual, but I intend to use the 42 intelligence to take Filleter. Perhaps I will feel more comfortable with it, as it has a longer attack range and no combo attacks like Cerulean Blade has on its second attack.

Sorry I misunderstood.

I think it’s intentional, enemies wearing heavier armor have more resistance.

Witches if I remember correctly have a high resistance against fire (and maybe also elemental damage???) and are weak to physical damage.

I think the devs want to add a Bestiary which I hope will also contain information on enemy resistances and weaknesses.

I think there is already something that shows vulnerability to certain types of damage, such as a shield on an enemy when they are captured, which changes depending on the damage to the weapon. I’ve seen it a couple of times.
And yes, I agree that this was probably the intention, but it’s just that there’s this gap between me hitting a knight in false Cerim armour at level 20 and dealing about 120 damage, and then at level 30 with improved weapons, but only dealing about 70 damage. The numbers are confusing, but otherwise everything is fine, there are no problems with killing.
