Currently the main reward player gets from doing Daily Challenges is some coins and the same random gear (sometimes recipes) which at some point gets converted into just more coins aswell.
It works for the first week, but then by playing consistently player basically becomes enough rich and start to care only about Weekly Bounty reset for the Ichor since they dont need anymore what Daily gives.
Then how to make Daily Challenges more meaningful and interesting in the long run?
Immersion wise we are doing bounties and filling requests from Captain Randolph, so that our reputation increases and we do some good in our silly outfit .
Then why should we get rewarded rusted swords and ripped armors for it? We are not Sacrament army dump cleaners.
So instead of rewarding that random gear, what if completing a challenge rewards Coins plus a “Honor Token”, a type of currency only obtainable by doing daily challenges and bounties.
How do you use that currency?
-Either it is used to upgrade our very own Reputation for example:
“spend X Honor Tokens and you get permanet discounts on X Vendor” (Good guys always gets a good treatment)
“spend X Honor Tokens to unlock harder Weekly Challenges with better rewards” (Reliable guys always gets the thoughest works)
-Or it is used at a Special Vendor which only accepts “Honor Tokens” as currency and sells Recipes for anything avaible in the game, giving the players who want to collect each weapon/armor/food/furniture Recipe sets a far more clearer path on how to do it. While also giving some kind of “Premium” reward of sort.
Of course, there are many other different ways to do this, every game has its daily system based on the direction they desire. Im just giving some random ideas here and there.
