This is my first time submitting feedback on the game, sitting at roughly 60 hours and only 1 Maxed out Character.
I’ve enjoyed my time playing this game but there are some very specific mechanics that are still present, which prevent me from wanting to invest even more time into it. These are things I present, just for visibility and hopeful that things can be improved.
I’ll start with what the latest patch introduces:
Roguelite Experience
On the surface, it’s good fun but a few things hold it back.
There are over 200 boons but even if I re-roll, I often see the same boon appear. After committing to finding something new, to find the same echo again feels bad.
No loot, not even resources to craft / potions or elixirs - is EXTREMELY bad and no other roguelite experience does this. I find it hard to dedicate more hours to something that gives little back.
After beating the EK, the loot is not rewarding. I figure this could be tuned to be more rewarding, if the Player doesn’t get loot or EXP during the run.
Beating the Crucible takes time and resources away from the Player. The end result is very minimal which is just draining.
The overall, in game experience seems to be tuned for affixes which give back player health or focus. It’s near impossible to run builds without this. I’m not sure of the vision of these class systems but the fact it feels so one sided towards builds - everyone gravitates towards the same thing which feels hard to theory craft and be creative.
Current Experience, Base Game
Timers are a buzz kill
Lack of specific crafting resources in the overworld is uninspiring
Lack of EXP in the overworld is uninspiring / mobs are too easy for Maxed out Characters
Bounties / Challenges are uninspiring and not so “Challenging”. They feel more like chores with minimal rewards after the fact. They eventually become repetitive as well. Players only choose the same ones because time is such a factor.
Overall, the game IS fun but there are just so many mechanics in place that work against the Player. It’s hard to get fully immersed, as it stands. The Crucible is fun and the direction is well received but I think I’m ready to put it back down until more Content lands.
