Crafting vs. Buying

I feel like crafted weapons and armor should have the opportunity to be better than just buying stuff and enchanting it straight from the vendors. Otherwise there’s no real point in buying the crafting stations for your home. Why should I bother buying the anvil, furnace, and blueprints followed by taking the time to smelt the ore into metal bars just to end up with a weapon that is identical to one that I could have just bought from the shop?

They don’t need to be insanely good compared to bought items, but I feel like they should have the opportunity to be better and also have a random opportunity for a special modifier

I see what you mean, but also I don’t believe you can purchase most of the craft-able weapons.

There’s a 2H Axe you cant buy, a spear, a Staff, etc etc. But I think it could be really cool for those crafted weapons to come with a fancy modifier.
