For multiple reasons I think crafting recipes that are learned should be available in the whole realm like the merchant upgrades, not individually to the character.
It reduces tedium of either having to either have a “crafting” character that learns all the recipes so then you have to swap to them craft and then swap back to the character you were playing.
Currently if you choose to RPG and say rogue crafts daggers/leather, caster crafts wands/cloth the gear is so interchangeable that it doesn’t make sense. Your caster could want to try a that Int dagger, your rogue could want a cloth piece for weight/fashion reasons. So then you go having to see who has which recipes.
RPG wise if you buy the recipe it can be “posted” in your crafting station. Our characters aren’t skilled craftsmen that have to train to be able to make something, so if it’s just seeing the recipe to make the things. Buying the schematics and posting them in the world is good enough for everyone. Similar to having a 3d printer IRL everyone doesn’t have to come with knowledge if models/schematics are programmed in already.
In Co-Op it’ll be nice to have the recipes for everyone because what if someone else snatched that recipe and is offline, you don’t have access to it and maybe don’t even know that your friend does. It’ll be cool checking the crafting station and seeing everyone has contributed and there is a wide variety of recipes available.
It gives a realm character/value/meaning just like all the merchant upgrades, the construction projects.
So I hope it’s something we see in the future as it would be a big QOL for dedicated players who are making multiple characters and trying to do the end game which is often Fashion Souls, err Wicked Fashion, yeah that sounds better actually.
