In the absence of respec and for general fun, some players are creating new characters.
The issue I put forward is on the recipes and blueprints. They are tied to your character and not to the account. It would great if blueprints at least were available at account level once found.
Example: I balanced stats better on several characters by creating new ones and overwriting old ones but lost all the blueprints I had found. I could use one main character to be the explorer but it defies the way I play with multiple characters. One armor set I had found was lost among other things including furniture for the house.
It is fine we are in EA but could that request be considered even if it defies logic?
I’ve ran into this problem as well and would like to see it addressed in some form.
However simply making them all account wide would invalidate a lot of current progression, so something not as drastic might be in order. Already you keep getting same already known blueprints over and over. And vendors selling them becomes redundand if you get it once ever.
Maybe make them realm bound. That way the progression is preserved for new characters in new realms, but they are shared if you play in the same realm.
Waiting for respect options, you could have used a trainer, put 10 on the skills you mess up then restart the game with this character, the game automatically detect you are 30 and some points are missing, add the point on “skills’ points to add”. Easy, …
Recreate a character in a new game, or in the current game, remains tedious: you have to levelup your character…
For the recipes and blueprints: it’s a pity we can’t share money between characters (to easily buy them in the shops). But it’s like that in all the game, so I imagine that this bad situation must be a standard.
I haven’t try this but if you buy all the recips and blueprints with one character, put them in one big chest, then create a new character, go in the party, go to the chest, and it will work, no ?
Any piece of gears and ressources that are in your chests, in you houses, will be available in the party for the new character: I have been doing this for days, and it works like a charm without any problems…
They could do away with rng blueprint drops and instead tie them in with appropriate vendor for you to “research”. Could be locked behind additional requirements like char/vendor lvl, story progression, completing some challenges and whatnot. So it wouldn’t be so problematic getting the one you want on another character.
Nothing is locked if you start in the party of your main character, you start at the beach, but run, avoid the enemies and you will see: no boss, town opened, all the Sacrement town is in the state and progression of your main character (houses, chests full of gears, story quests…).
I am pretty sure it’s possible to buy all thoses blueprints via your main character and put them in a chest for the new one…
I at first thought I’d want the designs/recipes on Realm, but then realize when it’s on the character that’s the most flexible option. Because you can easily take that character to a new realm and craft/furnish your housing etc there.
You “crafter” character doesn’t have to be the explorer. Whenever you get a new recipe or blueprint on any, just put in in your storage and then use it on your crafting character. Once that main character has something already, I then will use the duplicates on my alts.
Recipes and Blueprints are part of the loot system, so if they are in the loot pool making them a find once only ever really will just make the loot pool diluted with useless ones after the first find.
