I know it’s the most WIP piece currently available in the game and it’s mostly there to keep addicted nerds like me preoccupied, and I’m sure a lot of interesting and diverse changes will come to the Crucible eventually, but, for the time being, could we at least have some variety in it?
We already have mini bosses like the Duo, the Plague Doctor or the chicken knight, why not have some of them in there? We also have a huge variety of enemies in the game, but only 4 of them spawn in the crucible… Would it be too much work to just create copies of enemies with approppriate buffed up stats and have them randomly pop up in the Crucible, just to keep things a little bit more interesting when on our way to getting ass whooped by the Echo Knight?
It’s easy to tell that there is some lore reason why we only ever see the exact same enemies in the Crucible but, until there is more story to bite into when going down there, couldn’t we prioritize engagement over lore for the moment, at least until we have more rooms and enemies ready to spice it up a bit?
I understand what we have right now in the Crucible is basically step one of what Moon Studios plan to be a long long road, but I see no reason why we couldn’t have, say, the big log guys randomly replaced with a buffed Riven Twins sometimes, or have one of the witches replaced with a crawler, anything to keep us on our toes.
There was a post/ tweet from Thomas a few days back saying that the crucible in current state is NOT finished product.
They needed to get something out for endgame for the EA
Did you notice in the crucible room that there are additional levels at the back of the room?
I imagine as game progresses, we select our level of difficult / biome , make an offering and now we have different versions of crucibles with new enemy types from the regions we have unlocked
And hopefully new type of game modes to keep it interesting

Like you said it’s the WIP part of the game thus far but the thing that worries me is if we take even the slightest part of the current template exploring 7/10 rooms per challenge makes it significantly more repetitive. We need like double or triple the rooms per challenge to add true variety because in 1 run regardless you see almost everything.
To clarify, I’m not suggesting that adding random enemies and mini bosses would be the ideal Crucible for the finished game. I’m saying it’d be a simple temporary fix to make it more interesting for now until Moon Studios has more of the planned Crucible to put out.
Putting bounty targets and midgame enemies in the Crucible with extra life and dmg when they are already pretty interesting mechanically would, presumably, take near to zero work and would make the temporary experience better, before they have more Crucible content to release
