Judging by the amount of co-op loot topics since the update, it seems that shared loot is a common pain-point for many players. Considering some players do defend the current system, this is a suggestion to “combine” some of both worlds:
- Keep current system for all basic world loot/chests.
- Add a new system for significant loot (bosses, bounties, etc.) – a new ui with all rewards for that encounter pops up for everyone.
- All participants get to choose/select the loot they want.
- After everyone has finished choosing, loot is distributed based on preferences.
- If some item is selected by multiple players, the system chooses one of them randomly to give the item to.
