Loving the game so far, but whenever I create a new realm and a new character, I usually have in mind what kind of build I want to do, aka what kind of weapons I’m going to use, but sometimes it can take a very long time to find the weapon I want to use with my brand new build. It would be nice if the first guy you talk to when you wake up on the beach, when you loot him, you get a menu that allows you to get your first weapon of choice. It will be the lowest version of it, but at least you can start playing the style you want from the beginning, instead of being stuck with other combat systems you are not interseted on.
i think the game does want that early “scrappy” phase where you just use whatever you find
the problem is it can go on too long, and then it stops feeling like experimentation and starts feeling like delay. i’ve had a couple playthroughs where i NEVER saw the weapon i wanted in the entire campaign as it is now. i had to craft it in another realm
your idea would keep that phase but give players a way to pivot into their build sooner. i think there’s something to that. perhaps the class system holds an answer to this as well ?
Agreed. I have the same issue right now. I want my new character to be an archer but I haven’t found any bow yet. Even the blacksmith doesn’t sell one. I wish we could craft some very basic weapons and tools right after the prologue.
