Changes I hope are coming

I am writing this the day before the breach update, so there will probably be a lot of changes and fixes, but here are a few immediates pain points that I feel after two hours of gameplay, lauching back from nearly 8 months.

  • For the love of everything that is sacred, let us cancel animation. Dont lock us into long animations when the enemies can close the distance from a screen away in a split second. I am okay for loosing the ressources consumed when starting the ability, but it just feel bad to not be able to react in time because the animations are just too long.
    • And probably speed up the animations of us throwing and consuming objects.
  • Give us fast travel. Maybe not for every checkpoints, but find a way to not make me travel all the map into finding a bounty. And the actual world map is not good, not suited for a world with layers of verticals levels.
  • The stamina system just feel bad when they are more than one enemy. For me the game feels good when I managed to get rid of the stamina problem.
  • The food system management is just a chore for me, that I have to deal with in order to enjoy the good parts of the game. For me the healing and buffing should be separated.
  • I am always running out of inventory space, then I have to go to my house, and the vendors, and of course they are at opposite directions. I am okay with inventory management in RPG, having thousands of hours in diablo-like/exile-like game, but in this game ? It is a chore, because it take way too much time to just get rid of stuff you collected, and you dont have enough space.
  • Instead of empowering you, many aspects of the gearing revolve around reducing downsides.

In general, it feels like you tried too hard to mix different genres, introducing too much friction, without something to justify it.
Between having to collecting/harvest ressources, having to dispatch ressources in the house, not being able to fast travel/go back to where I want, minimazing downsides (speed/ stamina) to be able to not feel awfully slow …
I realize that the game never really gave me moments where I am enjoying it.
I really want to love it, the art direction, the sounds / animations / visual, everything is so good.
But nearly nothing in the gameplay make me look forward to put more hours into it right now.

It seems like the OP didn’t even watch the Breach update preview.
