Awakening Ember doesn't have the same warning as enchanting menu with the magic item seller

[Inconsistent UX/Player progress/Enhancement] Awakening Ember doesn’t have the same warning as enchanting menu with the magic item seller.

:lady_beetle: Bug Description

At the moment the UX differs if you use the Awakening Ember or Enchant an item from the magic shop.
The menu in the magic shop warns you about the common → enchanted item conversion destroying the gems that are attached to the item, but the Awakening Ember doesn’t.
Now the player might misunderstand that Awakening embers are a special, more powerful way to enchant their gem-kitted common items that preserves all the gems that are attached to the item. Unfortunately this is NOT the case and the gems just get unceremoniously destroyed as the item gets enhanced.
This is critical as this negative side is not mentioned in the Awakening Gem item description and can lead to player frustration and loss of progress for the player.

:clipboard: Steps to Reproduce

  1. Acquire a common item with full gem slots and an Awakened Ember.
  2. Navigate to your inventory and move your focus over to the Awakened Ember.
  3. Observe the item info about it’s uses.
  4. Now activate the “Use“- action on the Awakening Ember to transition the UI to the enhancement mode.
  5. Enhance the common item with full gems.
  6. Now the item has been enhanced, but the gems attached to the item have been destroyed. No warning about the loss of items was given in the process.

:white_check_mark: Expected Behavior

Fortunately there’s two options here:

  1. The item would’ve been enhanced and the gems retained in the item, as enhancing an item with an Awakening Ember is a more powerful way of enhancing an item.
  2. Upon activating the Use option on the Awakened Ember, you get the same warning pop-up as when you try to enchant items in the magic shop.

:cross_mark: Actual Behavior

The gems in the common items are destroyed without informing the player, this can lead to frustration and a loss off progress for the player. This can seem like a pretty big betrayal as every other UI in the game keeps the player always fully informed what the player is about to do.

Hey Permik, thanks for the detailed thoughtful post.

I moved this to Feedback because this is more of a “still need to be worked on” UX situation then a technical bug. I will however forward this towards Moon.
