If you want bombs to be more useful you have to wear gear that increases their usefulness. Rings, and enchantments.
I did play those games but never used the bombs. What would be a healthy middle point for damage to use limit then in your opinion?

The fact is that building in NRFTW is a lot of work, so having a consumable item that only works when you build around it seems like a waste to me.
I wish bombs were incorporated into combat, even if they were sporadic, like oils and potions are consumables, but they have their own reason to exist and you don’t have to build around them.
The bomb-only build doesn’t seem particularly interesting to me. If someone wanted to play the game as a “bomber?”, it would be more interesting to have a main weapon or an off-hand weapon, which are infinite bombs but have a real move set like bows.
Now like every time I use a bomb I’m astonished at how useless they are, and I don’t build them to make them stronger, it simply doesn’t make sense when there are other builds that are clearly more interesting than “spam consumable items”.
At most I could use the ring but even so I would have to waste some one the rings to use the bombs a little better.
I think that is their intention to have bombs be a dedicated bag with animation but over half the intended weapons aren’t even in the game yet. With a lot of the existing still missing animations and charge attacks.
Just the nature of adopting an EA game this early. We got atleast another 2 years imo until 1.0 at current rate. I did notice they closed their careers page too so hopefully they have a influx of talent coming in to help.
2 years is what you need to fix everything, but it looks like they won’t wait 2 years.
Obviously it’s speculation but, GingerPrime according to everything that the devs communicate, he is convinced that The game will probably be released at the end of this year or the beginning of next year.
From what I’ve seen I have the same impression: The game will be released for consoles in a year, along with the entire story and class system.
Unless they make a change of course and focus on quality rather than quantity, Many weapons will be left without charged attacks and incomplete movesets.
Thomas explicitly said that he doesn’t even remember the movesets of the original weapons (the ones we currently have) because he’s making the new ones.
This is a clear sign that they are not improving the incomplete weapons.
Ironically, just today I started writing weapons reviews again (I’m writing the Straight Sword one).
If we want to continue discussing this, we’d better move on to the Critique of Weapon Movesets topic, as we’re a bit off topic.
Bows lost a lot of its usage since bows became main hand, it was a great cheese or stay out of trouble utility while killing stuff but now we got bows for that lol
