Hello, I’m in love with this game but realistically it’s not possible to make an alt. Once a realm has reached it’s max with your main character, alts must withstand the same difficulty rather than have a path forward to re-level. I’ve tried grinding XP potions from the crucible to “power level” an alt, but it’s just not a pleasant nor realistic thing (especially if you want more than 1 alt). I have accumulated many legendaries now and would love to build some alts around those items…but I can’t.
I realize that I could start a new realm with a new character, but I really don’t want to start ALL over again on Sacrament upgrades, etc.
Please make a path forward possible for re-leveling alts. I’m not sure the best way to do this, but a quick fix would be to introduce a proceduraly generated dungeon system that scales to the character level. The world could remain at it’s elevated difficulty state, but the instance would support a leveling process for alts. Also, after Sacrament is unlocked, I recommend additional characters beginning there. Just a thought.
Speaking for myself, I enjoy the start. The feel of vulnerability and praying to the RNG gods for a decent weapon. Once you get to Sacrament it’s all too easy to jump realms and raid an alt for better gear and resources. And to be fair, it really doesn’t take too long if you skip exploring and resource gathering.
I started in my main realm (lvl 30), ran to my sanctuary to grab a few items to give me a bit of a boost.
Started a new realm. Beat all the major story quests. At which point I was lvl 14. Only upgrade I bought was the staircase.
Then joined my main realm, and I’m fine leveling up there now, it’s a little challenging, but I actually enjoy it more this way.
With the knowledge you gained from your first play through, you should be able to join your main in no time. I know it’s not really ideal, and it’ll probably become more of an issue when more levels are added, but like you said, not sure what the fix could be here.
