Money is scarce in Wicked, which love. But I’m often at the blacksmith or enchantress thinking: I’d love to know how this weapon feels, but do I want to find out for the cost of X silver? Hmm, no…
So then I end up trying very few weapons.
It’d be great if vendors offer an in-town try before you buy option. Just to swing the item a few times and cast their rune attacks.
I would love some kind of preview for weapon move sets and also for runes. There may already be plans for something like that in the compendium or in menus hopefully.
I dont feel like money is scarce per se, but I never have any money when Im experimenting with a new character, because I do end up buying everything to try it out.
i feel like experimenting should continue until about lvl 12 when you start seeing tier 2 and 3 items. then you start dropping a lot more items that sell for more gold and have more gold to try other stuff.
i rarely get lucky and get the weapon i want at the start of a new run.
but i really like the fact that i have to adapt and possibly try new stuff until i do get the prize piece
If memory serves, in a recent Q&A or interview there was mention of this obviously already existing internally, and of ongoing discussions how best to make it available to players. I don’t think it was explicitly called an upcoming feature, but devs are aware at least.
It’d be fun to be able to go and insult that gladiator guy next to the dummies, then he’d be like “OH THIS IS GOING DOWN BRAH, CHOOSE YOUR WEAPON” and you face off in the arena where they act as a trainer.
You could pick either yours or a weapon made available for you. Availability/variety/tiers of weapons depend on the level of the arena.
My “split the difference” suggestion is giving a video preview of weapon combos; let us see how the weapon performs, the speed, the combos, stuff like that, before we buy.
Even in late game I’m kind of in the position of waiting to get a drop before I invest crafting materials into creating a weapon, and this is with plenty of money in the bank and plenty of materials to go around.
No one wants to invest in an unknown quantity, y’know?
So I say (at least) a small video preview; let us know what we’re buying/crafting before we put money/materials into getting it.
