A Wrong way with roguelike

I thout it’s be like a diablo game, where you explore new areas. But this “roguelikes” thing is not wat i waiting. For me there are no differences between last system and new one. This is just a cheap way to spend gamer time for nothing. Instead of explore new cool places and fight for new different enemies, you must again and again and again try to complete those crucibles. And you know what? Devs is multiplied it by two! It’s sooooo boring. In the end when you lost all food, you find a boss - it,s just f@%&g incredible wrong, you has no food, you has no save, and boss has a 2 phase it’s just ultimate trolling. So - no thx.

100% agree. And another issue is - first enemy - are weapon movesets, 50%of times i fall down and die for non stopable moveset

Don’t do the crucible without a way to heal or you’re wasting food. You have life steal or heal runes.

I do agree it needs more work as it’s not really worth doing atm. But I’d lean towards more loot and make the boons more meaningful. They said they wanted to make it like Hades but in Hades you get things that completely change how your attacks behave and in this it’s just “15% more health” “5% chance to insta-kill mobs” etc. Nothing that I can’t just do with enchants and upgrading gear.

Hades 2 just came out so it was kind of a bad move to spend 3 months on a rogue-lite update, say it’ll be like Hades, then under deliver when the sequel just came out into EA.

“Diablo game where you explore new areas” you mean the diablo games that until just recently were procedurally generated areas where you clicked on the screen then it exploded. Where there was no platforming, ledges, environmental traps, etc? You haters are such liars when there’s so many other parts of the game that are legitimately bad

guys, i understand your points and can feel the frustration, but please try to stay respectful.

everyone can and should voice their opinion, as long as we keep it civil.

and as said in many other threads before, this is early access, and EA is meant to iron out features, bugs, gameplay etc. i said it multiple times, but i gladly repeat myself:

i too do want new things to explore, BUT i think drip feeding a new story chapter and new map every month or so will sooner or later be more harmful than good. if we have seen everything before 1.0 release, there is no need to play the final version. saturating the community now with more and more content might result in most people losing interest, once the game is ready for release.

and nobody forces anyone to replay the crucible if it is not their cup of tea.

there are yet many changes to be expected, and CONSTRUCTIVE feedback is always welcome. in my very humble opinion i think the dev team does a great job with listening to our input and implementing new cool stuff. not everything can always please everyone. so if you like the game be patient.

They will add more content.
Next update is multiplayer.
Then after that content.
About not having food and boss 2nd phase feels like trolling… yeah I felt that in the beginning. I died to regular mobs 10-20 times. I played against the first boss 20+ times before I beat him. This game is brutal in the beginning. But in the other end, when you have good items, you are so overpowered you can one-hit kill everyone.
I created multiple realms and farmed xp and materials/loot, got multiple ichor upgrades from first boss, and this way you can level up and get items, and game becomes really fun. Now I am so overpowered I can kill Echo Knight quite easily. Just create multiple realms and grind

Wth are you talking about, Diablo is not roguelike, they added a whole faction inside the crucible too, this is EA so give some constructive criticism instead. The new places will come my friend, just not in a day or two.
Echo Knight was hard before the crucible update, now with the buffs you have available and the exalted gear he is buffed also, you should be level 30 and have better gear than he becomes doable, unless you are one of the monsters around that can dodge everything and parry everything, i swear some people seen to have squirrel reflexes.

It’s not a way for me to play. i 30 lv, with last weapon upgrades. and just can’t kill this Echo Knight whatever i do, food is gone (if i luck to reach end 50\50), and i have nothing for long fight with boss. After 40 tries i differently don’t want to go back in crucible any more. This part of game is broken for me, and new bonus system is not help any much.
I beat all bosses with 2-3 tries, there is no problem. But his one is like one big mistake, and i don’t understand what devs plan about it.

Does he scale a lot with level? I’ve beat him with lvl 10 characters but maybe he just has low hp there. Though by 30 I don’t understand how you can’t just stun lock him.

Echo Knight was changed with the last update and it seems like he has 3 or even 4 times as much health. It’s basically forcing you to either grind out the awful process of the exalting your gear or you play the fight safe and spend 90 minutes slowly taking his health down. As of right now, the best thing to do is to farm up the gloamseed and exalt your gear. Otherwise, you’ll spend 40 minutes like I did last night and end up dying to new boss mechanics you couldn’t anticipate.

Oh, that’s really weird because I’m definitely not spending that time fighting him. He must scale because like I said, I’ve killed him on a few characters since the patch and they were between lvl 10-16.

Is your gear leveled up? Are you using gems/enchantments? Are you maxing out boons?

You can find many builds on YT that can easily beat Echo Knight.
The first one I did on this patch was with this build:

But just with the cheap blood rusted sword from the smith, and one of the cheap shields. Did rolls (enchanments) on them that roughly matched the video.

I dont know, but they buffed him for a reason, after you liberate those exalted itens and unique echos you become a monster with some luck, the problem here is damage output, after awhile you start to memorize the echos you can get. Lifesteal is great, you can get echoes that make food have no cooldown, one that gives you a chance to do lightning damage with every hit, this one just melts him, and so on.

I was having trouble with him too, even after reaching level 30, but gear gotta better with time, i open the face plate dude store and bought a lot of silver so i passed 1000 armor, i exalted everything, and you get to the EK faster than the previous crucible with those elevators and doors, so i memorized his second phase moveset, he got way less scary after that.

The only thing I haven’t done is exalted my gear so far. Maybe I need to get lucky with the echoes. They seem to be really good if you get the right string of them.

It’s like if “Hollow Knight” developers, instead of making big beautiful BALANSED world, just maked a “godmaster” dlc at first place. “Squirrel reflexes” edition. And block player progress to 30%

You dont need to be that fast in any souls games, you need to know what your enemy will do, memorize the patterns and you know when to dodge, when to parry, to attack and when to get the hell out of the way.

Of course they added a level cap, if they dont wipe at least nobody will be max level when the game releases, and its fine.

It work when you often fight with enemy. But if you must spend 20 min for reach enemy, you can’t memorize it patterns well, and this really suck. Also, when enemy has that crazy ammount of hp, it’s just matter of a time when you make mistake, even if you know patterns.

That’s mean game give you some chance for win. You can’t count only on your skills. You can one by one get useless tryes. Right now it’s dead way.
I saw video where gamer use life drain stats, and get back all hp that he lost only with few hit. I not seen loot with that stats, any way it’s a some kind of abuse, so i fight with regular weapon and armor.

life leech or “hp on hit” is not abuse. it is the same as “stamina on hit” or “focus on hit”. all those on hit builts are super strong and imo meant to be used for later game content.

you get those affixes by enchanting your armor and/or weapons and setting gems into it. so it is part of the intended gameplay loop.

I call absolute bullshit on this, it’s literally a regular weapon enchant you can get on both blues & purples. If you’ve never seen it, you’ve never enchanted
