First of all: Great job!
50 Hrs into the game and 2 characters created, left me with some impressions and suggestions to share with you. Since you devs always ask for feedback with every patch that you roll out, I figured maybe my feedback would also be useful. It’s really reassuring to see devs interacting with the community so much and keeping an eye on the development. Congratulations for the fast response patches, already on #5.
So many mixed feelings when you don’t really know what you’re playing. I played an adventure game where my focus was to explore and find out what is behind the next door, instead of a farming for gear hack and slash mindless farm. So my view comes from that point.
I will not impose my view of a perfect game and the things and systems i would like to see, as I am not a developer and, to me, doing so would insult the view and wishes that the passionate people put up to make it all a real game.
What I would like to be improved:
-
Please add controller map exchange possibility between Xbox and PS
-
Since respec is a hot topic, I think some kind of craftable consumable made from III materials, would be just enough effort, imo.
-
Not all the recipe for the armor “sets” are available to buy, or drop. At least a lot of recipes didn’t drop for me. Make bows as primary weapon? Please?
-
On the same idea, wouldn’t be a nice thing to have a small “set” bonus once you wear all the items? Right now, except for the slight armor variation and the cosmetic appearance, there’s no other utility for them. And I’m not talking about Diablo3 level of sets, but, let’s say a slight focus gain/increase/regen for cloth sets, or extra armor. Slight damage to specific types of enemies and so on.
-
At the moment the runes and the effects of using them are pretty ambiguous. I guess for a rather fresh RPG player, some of the naming might leave them wondering what they really do exactly. So a light description would be nice.
-
At a stage in the game, except for the daily bounties, there’s not so much to do with materials , so no real incentive to gather them at all. With the limited recipes for things to craft, it seems like they are a wasted potential.
-
Despite the soulslike elements, I think a way to chose your destination whisper, would be very helpful, especially in the endgame, where the “story” part of the game is already said and done.
-
A very unpopular opinion and a personal one is that I’m not bothered by the item durability, but a proper item compare screen would be nice.
One of the most important things that I think needs to be improved is obviously the performance. FPS drops are a real issue at the time and might turn you back right from the start. This would do the game a big disservice not giving it the chance to present itself and reduce the player count in the end.
All in all, after the end of the available content, it really left me wanting for more… More hidden paths, more traversal, more story and more enemies to kill.
I hope some dev will take a read in this rather complex essay, at least out of curiosity.
Keep up the good work !
