3d art and animations

To start, I think there is no question that the art style is so unique and so good! The game looks amazing!

  • I noticed that you are using squash and stretch in your character animations and all in 3D. Does this mean you have stretchable 3d rigs? How do you animate these?
  • And the environment also seems to react to character motion. I was curious how you are doing this - does this work out of the box in unity (or do you use some other engine)? how do you make things like grass react to both environment effects like wind and realtime character movements?
  • Animations like the character opening the chest are so well done! How are multiple entity animations done?

Sorry if these are super basic questions (I’m not in the game industry), I’m just curious about how such good handpainted art can have such good interactive 3d animation.
