30 suggestions to make the game better

I am a person who loves to play games. I have completed over 700 games and spent over 100 hours on this game. I rarely give feedback. When I saw this beautiful game from the same studio for a masterpiece like Ori, I wanted to give feedback.

I have prepared 30 suggestions that will not negatively affect the progress of the game or lose the interest of another player. My aim is only to make the game better and increase the playing time.

I will continue to add as I have new ideas…

Of course, the developer knows better and it is a constantly evolving game. I am just making suggestions

Let’s start…

1- a small window should be displayed showing how the runes animation looks like

2- completed set outfits should give the character an extra feature

3- shoes should be added in addition to the outfit, this should be related to the speed of the character.

4- a hard-to-find item should be needed to remove or attach the runes of yellow weapons.

5- other arenas and bosses that are different and stronger than echo knight should come. the number of stages of the new arena should be more than 10.

6- there should be unique weapons and outfits that are better than yellow items

7- the color of magic items should be purple as before. dark red and purple writings on them tire the eyes. the color of items that are better than yellow items should be full red.

8- the Seneschal should give difficult and rewarding quests. and a special scenario should be made for this character.

9- There should be an arena with 100 waves where the power and number of creatures will increase after each successfully passed wave. There should be a reward at each stage and the final reward should be unique.

10- There should be a very rare substance that eliminates the negative properties of magical items.

11- More detailed information about items, gems, runes should be given.

12- Ice, fire, electricity, plague are already available. Poison should also come as a new feature. It should be green and the health of those infected should decrease slowly.

13- The “frost stream” and “inferno” rune effects already exist. Electric and plague runes should also come. (If poison comes, it should be in the same animation)

14- The number of weapons mounted on the hand should be increased.

15- The ability to dive to the bottom of lakes and seas in the world should be brought. There should be a feature to collect burials, chests, treasures, herbs at the bottom of lakes and seas with limited breath holding time. and there should be secret passages.

16- (for the future of multiplayer) there should be a new currency that is hard to find and collect and an online market for items. Only for unique items. (for balance).

17- the character should be completely prevented from falling into the abyss while attacking. He should only fall into the abyss when escaping or when pushed by an enemy. This makes the game more realistic.

18- the character should not have a level limit (30). It would be more enjoyable if it was 200 or more. In order to provide balance, 1 skill point should be given every 10 levels after level 30. and the difficulty in the world should be shaped accordingly. The level should increase after 200, but the probability of unique items to appear instead of skill points can be increased. This will increase the duration and enjoyment of the game.

19- after a high level and according to the scenario, there should be a pet, spirit or a powerful entity specific to the game that will be with the character. and it should be customizable. There should be separate items, levels and runes for him. This will also extend the duration of the game and be enjoyable.

20- different cities should be added.

21- all vendors and markets should have a level of more than 3 and the quality and variety of products should increase.

22- It should be possible to recycle deleted and destroyed items. Sometimes we make mistakes by mistake.

23- the name of the runes should be skill and (4+1) the name of the 5th skill should be ultimate or a name specific to this game. this skill should be stronger than the others.

24- 5 enhancement elements should be attached to each item worn on the character. These should provide features such as reload speed, focus reduction, armor increase, etc. (such as gem and enhancement). These enhancement items must have a level and be in different colors.

25- Gem and enhancement should give special features to the character. For example, if it is a heavily armored warrior, it should be a special buff for this class, if it is a mage, it should be a special buff for this class, etc.

26- the camera angle should be a little further away and there should be much more zooming options. Being able to see the clothes on the character very closely allows us to choose between the clothes and gives us additional game time.

27- Sun and moonlight show very variable tone. The brightness and intensity of the light change rapidly. (This is not about a cloud passing in front of the sun or moonlight. It is about the change in the intensity of an unobstructed light). It would be better if these lights were stabil.

28- It should be possible to change the character name and realm names.

29- Different single-handed weapons should be able to be attached to each hand. For example, sword - sword, sword - axe, axe - mace etc. and each should have different properties. The weapon in the right hand should be given electric properties and the weapon in the left should be given fire properties. Like this.

30- The runes should be leveled. The damage dealt by runes that increase in level should also increase.

All of these will allow us to continue for hours even after the main scenario of the game is over. If the farming feature is added to the game, the playing time of the game will increase a lot since there is a goal even after the scenario is over. This is a true Souls style and I can say for sure that its popularity will increase as a never-ending game.

  • I agree with all the suggestions.
  • I partially agree with your suggestions.
  • I think these would ruin the nature of the game.

All your suggestions are logical, they can be further enhanced, but for now, even these take the game to another level.

agreed and i would expand. damage type should be mentioned, as well as damage numbers and effect need to be specifically mentioned. if the effect knocksdown enemies it should be stated whether or not bosses are affected. players want numbers and certainty.

i always have the idea that item sets are a mistake. for example in monster hunter, some item sets give so much bonus that in the end everyone ends up wearing the same armorsets at the end game. theres not much diversity.

also in diablo 3 there practically are no “real” builds. all the builds are actually dictacted by armorset bonuses. the devs gave up balancing the game but by using armorset bonuses, they could funnel their players into playing in very specific ways that allowed them to balance the game better (which still they failed to balance lol).

hard no for me. also getting the right item base to drop is hard enough, getting it to roll 3 or 5 mods is another.

i m 50-50 on you with this. on one hand pants already fulfills the same functionality as shoes. having shoes as a separate slot on surface level is logical. but every armor slot we have is another source to multiply numbers and can cause balancing issues.

an interesting sidenote is that you can roll movespeed on BLUE pants.

this is 2 suggestions rolled into 1. i do think its logical harder bosses will come. this is due to the fact that the game is incomplete. as for more than 10 stages, i m against it. it can get very tiring when you have more stages BUT i can see why some players would enjoy it more, which is the power fantasy that comes from having a buttload of blessings from each stage. i ll just disagree on that as i dont want to spend too much time doing just 1 run.

similar to the above. hard no. in grimdawn i get to fight many waves of enemies. i just end up feeling tired/sleepy.

and the reality is, if you find yourself BLASTING thru waves of enemies, that just means the game is not balanced and is just another “power fantasy” game. if NRFTW ends up turning into another POE, where the best way to play is to clear the entire screen in a literal second and can be easily repeated every screen then i’ll just play POE.

i play NRFTW because the combat is more deliberate. the devs really need to look into the overperformers and nerf em.

currently theres many ways to mitigate the negative properties. i believe its balanced enough. indestructible/cannot be repaired combo is already a very good way to deal with it.

i would say, more uniques need to be introduced that make certain downsides neglible. such as a unique that rewards low focus/no focus builds so any negative focus mod doesnt affect the player or infact becomes desirable.

having underwater areas on one hand brings a huge amount of exploration to the game. but i would point out underwater areas are very divisive. some players love em, some players hate em. i’m from the hating camp.

currently we have some form of fall protection. i dont mind having more protection, if i lunge at an enemy IRL i would always try not to lunge so far that i would fall off a ledge.

game is still WIP. we can expect more when more content comes. as for 200 or more, you are now talking about power fantasy. i believe that level 100 is a nice cap to have. limits define your build character. it is why i loved the original fallout 1/2. you cant max out your stats and you could never max out all your skills. you could get many of them at a high number but you would normally forgo many skills as you simply are forced to choose.

it is why i dont play oblivion nor fallout3/4 (technically oblivion with guns). when you can max out everything, you might as well be a god.

i like the idea of players having pets/companions. they should aid the player but not make them too powerful.

we need a way to LOCK items. its is an old suggestion yet the devs still arent doing anything about it.

depending on the intent of the devs, this can introduce power creep. it can be good or it can be bad. i’m not entirely against it.

enhancements preferably should not be too conditional. this is to keep the game simple. if a enhancement benefits a melee playstyle. then so be it. if it benefits a caster play style. so be it. dont make an enhancement read “if the player has more wisdom they gain X, but if they have more strength they gain y”. just let it be “players gain X” or “players gain y” directly. if they dont like it? reroll the enchant.

HUGELY AGREE

if i understand it properly you want different effects if an item is equipped on a different hand. i would say the same as previously on enhancements based on class. just make them do one thing and reduce/remove any conditional bonuses if possible.

this is similar to suggestion 23. and my response is similar. not entirely against it.

as for the rest that i dont address, its probably because i dont have an opinion on the suggestion or dont care for it.

I like your post, here’s my opinion on each take.

Totally Agree

Strongly Disagree, this would discourage players from trying interesting outfits with different pieces, without any real benefit.

Having an extra piece of armor would mean having to rebalance all the Enhants, the system would become more complicated but there would be more variety.
I don’t like the idea of linking shoes to movement speed, if you want to go faster you can find solutions in the systems we already have, for now there are two rings and two enchantments, other things could be added.

In my opinion we should be able to extract normally, since we can already find the runes even in rare drops. I don’t see why not, since we are already destroying a unique object to obtain them It seems like a balanced trade.

There will be a second big crucible update sooner or later

Strongly Disagree, Unique items are not meant to be legendary items even if they are rare, that’s why devs want all the options available to you to be strong, and the options that are strongest for you depend on the harmony between your playstyle and your build not on the rarity of your items, adding an option that is clearly stronger than others (or at least intended to be so) ruins this philosophy

This change in particular is a tool to intuitively make players understand that cursed items are not “epic” items. The expectations towards the color Purple = Epic is what led to this change and from this point of view it is a step forward. I agree that it is visually uglier. You can find my opinion (and that of other people) here too: Breach Refind: Things to love, things to hate, things to be confused about

Same as 5

Same as 5

Same as 6

Totally Agree

I don’t like this element, it’s too similar to fire

Totally Agree, I talked about this thing here: Let us chenge the Runes Elemental Damage + add “Pure” Physical Damage

you’re talking about the weapon slots???

Cool but it requires a pretty big update

I have no opinion on this matter

They have already added ledge protection

The current system is fine for me, it allows you to switch between different characters knowing that they all have the same potential in the post game.

It can also be implemented in early game with sammons and pets.

The devs have said that there will be other cities

This is in the plan for the “Sacrament Update”

It’s not a bad idea but it needs to be implemented well

I don’t think this game needs an “ultimate”

Gems and Enhancements are enough we don’t need a third system the game is already hard to balance as it is.
This is my idea to solve the problems of the current Enhancements system: The RNG Problem, Enchantment System Vs Gem System

Wait for the class system

The camera distance should be adjustable, and there should be a mod photo, I agree

True

Yes and also the character’s appearance, at least the haircut and beard

Dark souls 2 time? It’s not a bad idea it might be difficult to implement

I don’t like this idea, It seems like an unnecessary complication to me

Overall many of your ideas are interesting but lack a problem solving aspect.
