Wicked experimental beta feedback from a new player

Hi, new player really loving the game. I documented some of my feedback during my run through the beta (beat all content so far). I made a separate post about clear bugs, but here’s the more general feedback on my experience in no particular order:

  • Gathering indicator ring for fishing should appear next to the fish, not next to character
    (you’re watching the fish to catch with camera focus, your character is off to the side and hard to see)
  • Add a keybind for “close all the menus”, so if you get attacked you can quickly return to action. In most ARPGs I think this is on Spacebar.
  • Dodge should probably activate when held down (unless there’s a specific mechanic why you want held dodge to be different?). I spend a while thinking dodge doesn’t work because it only activates on a quick tap, and I’m used to pressing and holding to ensure the action comes out.
  • Gathering “perfect timing” seems mistimed on visual indicator. I can hit perfect every time if I aim for the rhythm, but if I look at the indicator I have to press at what feels like “wrong time” to get perfect.
  • Placing house items with mouse and keyboard seems horrible UX, why are we using movement keys and direction lock instead of placing with mouse?
  • Housing chests: Is there a way you could reposition a chest without taking items out of it.
    • Also, ideally an easy way to move stuff from a smaller chest to a bigger one easily (since its likely full and its a pita to take everything out, replace chest, then put it back in)
  • Balance feedback: Rune powers seem too powerful, its very easy to generate massive focus, and the damage dealt feels more “ultimate” level than a strong attack
    • Should probably tone down rune attacks damage and focus gain somewhat
    • Currently this feels so overwhelmingly strong there’s little point in attacking with weapons, aside from focus generation until you can make it selfsustaining
  • When you sprint to a chest in your house, your character should not climb on the chest (or let us access the chest from on top)
  • Feature request: Ability to glamour armour to look like a different piece would be very welcome. Let us look good while slaying!
  • Feature request: You should be able to combine gems to make bigger ones (e.g. 3 chipped = 1 mottled)

That’s always been escape in things I’ve played.

I’ve honestly never played Wicked with keyboard and mouse.

Don’t know the button on keyboard / mouse, but on controller you hold down A to run, or tap it to dodge. Is that not the case with the keyboard / mouse button?

I gave feedback on this too. The issue, I think, is that the ‘perfect’ area is the last area, when you are ‘in the red’. Which is counterintuitive, since for, well, most everything, red is bad. My recommendation was for them to change the color to maybe gold or something.

Probably won’t happen as that would require special coding to NOT mantle on it. Sloooowww down, no need to run in your home. :smiley:
