What's next and when?

What’s next?

So what’s next for the game and when? The breach refined is just that. A big hotfix for what’s already there. I literally got nothing to do. Bo side quests no new areas, no addition to the game.

Never liked the appeal of coop as well. Why do they have to shove it down on us? Why can’t it just be a single player and focus on the experience. Like the greats like elden ring, red dead, God of war, last of us, dark souls, sekiro, and horizon. The game doesn’t need coop,
it needs more content.
More sidequests, good story, more worlds, and more quality of life things that we can do outside of combat aside from building houses. And why not make the houses to be more engaging? Like put a mini game in it or just something else. Include shapeshifting in the classes . I have nothing against coop, I have good memories in destiny 2 and Titanfall 2 and Helldivers, but coop right now is just so convoluted and over used it’s not needed any more.

Apparently we’ll have to wait a long time, coop is the next big thing according to the devs.
I’m honestly excited about it, it’s fun to play with other people and it can become occasions to make some friends.

I’m honestly eager to see what the patch 1.0 will look like, but that’s going to take a LOT of time.

the game does not need coop. it needs to be its own thing. take a look at the legends like elden ring, sekiro, bloodborne, god of war, red dead or the last of us. they’re all single player that can be played offline. chasing to please people will lose the game’s identity and the devs will suffer in sales because it tries to be everything all at the same time. you make sales because of your target audience - a focused community wanting to play a single genre. and that’s what wicked is supposed to be. maKe the game great and the money will follow, try to please everyone and the game will bomb, like the prostitute downtown wondering why is she not rich because she thought men wants sex right? wrong, if you lose your value then there’s only another word for you, and the word is ‘trash’. i had my time in coop games and they were great, but after that i play my single player games and guess what, i have more gaming time in the single player than in the coop.

With all the inflation happening in the world right now, gamers alreaDY have a lot to deal with in life. and they seek to game to relax and escape all of it, and i love the game because it does just that. and it has the potential to be that great.

please tell thomas and the devs of this post. the studio needs to have its own voice rather than loggin in to social media and find ways to please the comments which the people behind those post it absent mindedly,

if you want to milk the game financially like skyrim, make it its own thing, make it great. quality is everything. and when it comes to games, it is the number one priority.

It’s going to be an optional feature, drama queen lol it’s not going to turn the game into a multiplayer only title lol

half of the games you mentioned are also cop and pvp. nobody is forcing you to play coop, single player will not get removed. so i do not see any issue here.

Thomas already said no more story until 1.0 release. They don’t want to spoil more of it.

Whether this includes maps and maybe non- main story side quests, who knows.

This does mean they need to get the whole game out sooner rather than later because doing the story once and then just the same crucible end boss and story bosses on pestilence in the same story areas you already completed the story in does get old fast.

Especially because the itemizations and character progression system in the game are still very alpha/beta-ish. The gearing just isn’t that deep and most of the tinkering is with the different weapons and runes, but fallen embers are a huge bottle neck as you can end up needing 120+ for each set depending on RNG.

Another problem is that since rune attacks don’t have synergies and interactions, you end up just finding the one rune attack that is highest damage per focus cost for a cheaper spammable spell and then your 125-150 focus massive aoe nuke rune attack and call it a day, no reason to use any other rune attacks.

For example, Spirit Burst and Tremor Wave. Both cost 50 focus. Tremor Wave does significantly more damage, has a faster travel time, has more stagger application, and all Spirit Burst has going over it is its slight lightning buildup application that’s too small to really amount to anything, and tremor wave cleaves as well anyways.

The game needs to have a reason for using different rune attacks that cost the same amount of focus.

yeah oh boi i wondered who thought about balancing that. but they probabaly didnt regard that at all. just make it look cool and ship it.

No clue about balancing, no regard for animation locking, forcing the player to cheese the game with lifesteal or giga Damage reduction. Those animations would be fine for enemies, but not for players. Dunning-Kruger is strong with Moon.

That would be another review-bombable foot-gun for moon. just put it on a different release branch. and only let the players play the game if they don’t care about spoilers. (We should remember how buggy Act 2 and 3 in BG3 was. I didn’t even finish it because of a soft lock in Act 3 and the disappointment of the bugginess of Act 3)

@thomasmahler
REMEMBER. EA PLAYERS ARE YOUR FREE TESTERS. I REPEAT. EA PLAYERS ARE YOUR FREE TESTERS. USE THEM!

(You probably don’t have that many testers employed because of that as well, so you can’t just throw out a game and expect everybody to praise you to high heavens. Wicked isn’t Ori and success isn’t guaranteed. You nailed one of the easiest genres and thought you can do the same for one of the hardest. and it shows. I hope you get what that means and act accordingly. We all want the game to succeed but we also require you to act responsibly, not only for the game or us but also for your studio and your legacy)

So what’s next for the game and when?

Next is the co-op and we don’t know when.

I literally got nothing to do. Bo side quests no new areas, no addition to the game.

This is what and Early Access game is. If you aren’t satisfied, go play something else. Steam explicitly tells you that you are buying an unfinished product. The decision to buy it was yours. It’s especially unwarranted since the Breach Refined JUST dropped.

Never liked the appeal of coop as well.

Cool, for every one of you, there are 50 others that like it. I have 3 friends that have bought the game already and haven’t spend a single hour in because they are waiting for the co-op feature so we can all play together.

Why do they have to shove it down on us?

Because that’s what the devs wanted. It’s something I liked and I want co-op in it as well.

Like the greats like elden ring,

Elden Ring has a “Seamless co-op” mod specifically to add what you don’t like in the game.

it needs more content.

It will come with time.

Like put a mini game in it or just something else.

I personally despise all mini games everywhere. I hated Gwen, I hated Machine Strike, I hate every single mini-game.

I have nothing against coop, I have good memories in destiny 2 and Titanfall 2 and Helldivers, but coop right now is just so convoluted and over used it’s not needed any more.

What does “Convoluted” even mean? The devs are adding co-op using the Photon Engine which handles multiplayer pretty much on its own. If not, please explain what you mean “convoluted”.
