[UserImposed] Nettle Spores Not Spawning at all on First Playthrough (this is not about re-spawning, it's first time in a new server)

(This is a completely different bug from “some resources not respawning”, this happened to me first time on a realm, it’s not about “respawn”; they simply don’t spawn at all. So some new player might get locked out of progression.)

I’m on a new character, a new server.
Right after the “Nameless Pass” I know I’m supposed to go to the “Sewers” area for Darak. But I wanted to craft a specific weapon first that needs materials from Marin Woods so I came here.
Some Nettle Spores have spawned and most are empty. This one for example on the screenshot, was empty when I arrived here the first time. This might be because the story didn’t call me here maybe? But then why do some of them exist?
I’d have to wait for ones that are able to spawn to respawn, but the ones that are bugged out won’t spawn at all even for the first time i believe.
(For now, going to another realm i have to steal Nettle Spores. But a new player might be completely locked out from the area, and the rest of the game.)

Solutions tried,
-Going out of the area and going back in
-Teleporting out of the area and teleporting back in
-Exiting the game and getting back in
these didn’t fix it.

Steps to reproduce;
-Start a new realm
-Progress until you finish the nameless pass (Do not go to Sewers after)
-Come to Marin Woods early(without no one calling you here i believe)(Also i didn’t save the Alchemist yet, probably unrelated tho?)
-Try to find the first few Dire Nettle Spores

Hey Rev,

Do you have the quest “Roots That Bind” active?

Silas

Hey Silas,

Nope, I don’t. I’ve finished “Of Rats And Raiders” since I posted the initial report. I’ll get the quest you mentioned and then post an update here to say if it fixed it or not.

Still, it’s weird behaviour that some Spores did spawn and some didn’t.

@Silas-Inservio-Pax
Okay i just got “Roots that bind” and checked back. Now the one that was missing did spawn(assuming all the other bugged ones did as well.)

So the bug is happening when you don’t have the quest.

My suggestion is, when we don’t yet have the quest; either none of the spores should spawn or all the spores should spawn.
I’d vote for all of the spores spawning since it’s a part of the natural habitat in that area that has nothing to do with Will being concerned about his parents(since this is how you get the quest). But both solutions are better than random spawns anyways.

Not a bug :wink:

Just intended so players first get the quest before they venture forth to far.
