[UPDATED] Negative Feedback of early breach - after 40 hours before update

I have completed before entire game and have around 40 hours before update.

  • Early repair cost is to high.(after the first boss - before the right up area) It’s very extreme point of “quit” moment. After few death it’s needed to repair - on boss it makes annoying/frustating moment that player instead of trying again to kill boss - he is forced to grind for repair early.

  • it makes experience of a full survival from begining and not being able to progress, while early joy/hype is ruined by quit moment and frustation providing bad first experience and refund on some cases.

  • There’s not enough gold and herbs/mushrooms early to sustain healing and repair cost. After 15 minutes of roaming i have crafted 2 pieces of food. so i need 1 hour to prepare before boss to farm healing and gold for repair? huh? (seems only very-early issue)

  • Fist weapons have to high stamina cost - it’s agility weapon.. and player is able to use 3 attacks and one roll? Using it also is more clunky than using 2H weapon - directly just pin you to place on animations and player is unable to roll. Making it more stationary weapon than 2H weapons i have mained before. While it has worse stagger.

  • Weapons for 42 requiment are available only for very late-game characters beside you have made all points into just dexterity - most players will see a new higher tier weapon and was faced in “i can wear it in next 4 hours of play” because they made balanced build around dmg/health/stamina - after 10 - we should get 20 and 30 requiments for stats and not 42.

  • HDR options are not working

  • Stagger system is bad. It’s depleting to fast. Making the another bad moment while we are not attacking for 2s and enemy have already 0 stagger.. player should not be that extremely punished. Staggering system should reward slow-attacking hammers and slower combat and not aggresive . It’s against entire “fantasy” of staggering. Making it bad on
    -2H weapons.
Whats the purpose of stagger if only parrying that have the smaller window in all souls is abble to stagger enemy and 2h hammers or hard-hitting stagger focused fists can’t? while agressive daggers will stagger???

  • Story is not smooth - player is forced very early. Before 1 hour of play to grind and play “survival” instead of arpg/souls like. I suggest to make very-early game easier with few optional bosses (like horse guy in elden ring). I mean - goin early after the hype to 20 minutes of gathering resources to have 3 attempts on boss is not satysfying. Game need better “level” balance

  • While i have over 10k hours in arpg games and i think second one in souls like - i think. It’s hardest of the hardest souls’likes i have ever played - counting 2D souls likes with the hardest parry’window and very bad “visibility/reading” of enemy. Attacks are very poorly indicated to be paired. Parry in my opinion is tottal garbage here. While i love parrying enemies i really can’t do it here and there’s no way to learn it without dying and losing gold to repair. Which cycle quit moment just via learning how to play game properly and use it’s systems.

  • Enemies off-screening player even on 21:9 monitor. So on 16:9 i guess it’s creating very fake difficulty. While player get a shot from out of screen. And amount of ranged enemies are increased somehow. Making gameplay slower - and less rewarding/enjoyable. While most of stamina is wasted on rolling. While trying to kill 2 enemies being shots by 3 other enemies..

  • IT’S very to easy to drop from cliffs while attacking. While enemy dashing out and he can’t. For example when granade guy dash to a side of cliffs and we try to attack him. it’s to easy to fall off. USING KNIFE SKILL CAN MAKE YOU FALL OF CLIFF…

  • Fall attack don’t hit enemies at most cases even if it should as player model falls on enemy. (knife and knuckless)
*- Enemy explodes instead of ragdoll - seems very bad.. it’s bad for immersion - while killing enemies they should ragdoll. Im punching with fist someone face and he is exploding? im playing fortnite or what? make fist to ragdoll.. im kicking someone so he should ragdoll from hit and not explode from kick *

ALSO DARAK (Derek?) boss now is much, much, much harder.. with 2 phases and that healing changes.. You have changed healing but didn’t adjusted some bosses to it. Not even mentioning his attacks are bugged and he hits player out of his reach many times. Second Phase mostly. Most attacks have higher area than attack animation and model.
** It’s hardest boss in entire game before breach**

another bugs:

  • parry window and backstab are changed - both are not working properly now. When i played previously with parrying and i have palyed every single souls like in my life. Parry here is just not working due to animations/hit-boxes/attacks have wrong parry windows
  • enemies for daily quests are not showing up
  • darek as i say is not adjusted to changes with healing - more of a wrong design. Making boss the hardest.
  • another design - all daily quest can show one reward. It’s very frustating for player to checking new daily missions and having only one weapon type in all of them (or a bug?)
    - low weight makes game barely unplayable - it’s to easy to fall in echoes and from cliffs in open map in low weight.. barely game is unplayable on low weight

For food, I have the opposite experience. Just running around the starting area, I was able to make 27 food items for healing. I found it way more reasonable.

That’s still proving my point. which is very poor from you to not understand it. It’s not about you or me - but about some part of people that can have to aggresive quit moment due to breaked flow and frustation to masohist designs and poor handling of progression or waypoints - like one on derek (absolutely worst boss in all souls). Long way from respawn, poorly indicated attacks, to high area on second phase which is barely visible to seen where is area of attack and where not.

updated updated updated updated

I generally have lots of food, but that’s because I go back to the starting area and re-farm it. I haven’t been to nameless pass yet and I have played breach update for about 8h now. I am just still playing in Orban Glades and Mariners Keep re-farming them for mats and experience. I don’t mind this as it’s chill content, but I can see people getting frustrated when they have to spend 6 hours doing the same content just to get materials to craft food or upgrade town. I don’t know why they are so keen on these survival mechanics especially that there is no multiplayer. It would make sense in an mmo-lite game where you can trade with other player, and lots of different players. This survival system will only work and will be liked by players if cutting one tree gives you 10 wood and mining ore gives you 10 ores so it’s not as tedious as now. It’s not fun farming mats in an arpg/souls like. Also the 59min delay on building in Sacrament needs to be gone and instant. Unless Thomas and Moon Studios enjoy getting more and more refunds and negative reviews. This update made many things much worse unfortunately.

I agree with increasing material rewards from crafting so it feels less slow to upgrade town and craft recipes.

But I disagree that it’s bad in itself. I actually found it quite a peaceful break from getting murdered and my blood pressure shooting through the roof when chased by packs of enemies. It’s nice to have a little bit of Stardew Valley pause to remove some of the stress the early game combat was causing.

And the game is just ridiculously gorgeous. The artists and technical artists and animators are what I want to be when I grow up lol. They are GOATs.

Agreed. Makes me want to delete the game. Not just because it’s unnecessarily annoying, but also because it feels like a deliberate way to disrespect my time. It makes me think they’ll do it even more later in the game, and then I feel “well then why would I even do the effort to get all the way there, only for them to screw me over with those timers?”

I know, I’m sure it’s fine for many players. But you’re making an arpg, not Farmville. Arpg players don’t want to wait for NPCs, we want to burn our time killing monsters to find loot.
Same with escort quests: not a good match for arpgs

I don’t mind the timers existing for building improvements, with the upgrades to worker efficiency you can reduce times by 50% and probably even higher.

I do find having to wait for crafting items to be refined a pretty annoying mechanic.

If I want to upgrade my armor and weapons I don’t want to wait 8 minutes for the planks to be refined.

I was reading, but stopped at needing to waste 15 minutes to get 2 food. What are you doing? Genuinely were are you looking, because you are clearly doing something very wrong.

Honestly any timers people need to wait on for more than 10 seconds are a design mistake in my eyes.
What about people that have less time to play? You’re screwing them over.
What about people that like to play fast? You’re screwing them over.

Honestly, I can’t figure out: who is the target audience for these timers? Who looks at these timers and says “my god, this is awesome!”

Perhaps they exist, but I’ve not found them yet, and I imagine they are a small minority of the playerbase.

This is one thing i dont get. You can find the exact same weapon at a lower level with a lower requirement and could basically get the same damage when you upgrade it to be at the same level. like whats the point of having a tier 12 with dex 42 requirement if i could just run the same one on tier 1 and upgrade it to the same level while only at 10 dex requirement?
