When watching a youtube video I noticed the keyboard and mouse UI is different from gamepad. While this isn’t a surprise, what was a surprise is how it showed the runes. On gamepad you can NOT see the runes at all unless you press the rune button. The reason this is an issue for me is that the orange % all just ‘looks orange’ to me. My eyes don’t really see a difference between, say 85% and 100%, so I “miss cast” a LOT for the more expensive abilities. I just don’t have the full rune power, but since the other abilities are ready I assume I do.
So… two suggestions, of which I’d prefer the first…
Add in the mouse and keyboard rune view to gamepad. Maybe even show a smaller second bar (or even 3rd?) for additional weapons. Even better, put a glow highlight around the abilities that are charged.
Option 2, have the orange ‘pie’ pieces on the character ONLY light if the rune is charged. As in don’t have a 1-99% orange anymore, just leave that black, then at 100% show the orange for that rune.
Option 2 option, have 4 dots appear under the main circle UI in the center to show which rune is active. (This is what Warframe does.) Though I realize this might be problematic since who knows if 1 or 2 is lit, 2 or 3 is lit, etc, without maybe showing a hollow circle if they aren’t lit and solid if they are.
Again, I’d love my option with the picture. Though after playing so long and just looking at the center isn’t great, I miss cast often enough it’s kind of a big deal. No, glancing up to the top left to see the rune amount doesn’t help, since I have no idea how many of those segmants mean what, nor how many are filled out of max as the bar fills.
