Alright, it’s been over two months since the last official update for No Rest for the Wicked, and that was back on August 1st. Honestly, this radio silence is starting to get frustrating. A lot of us have invested in the early access with the expectation that we’d at least get regular news or progress updates.
It’s really not cool to leave your community in the dark like this. We’ve supported the development, and in return, we deserve some transparency. Even a small update would go a long way at this point. Has anyone else heard anything? Rumors? Leaks? Anything?
This silence isn’t sitting well, and I think the devs owe us more communication.
Honestly if they are gonna keep this radio silence Im gonna have to ask for a refund cuz 2 months without saying anything anywhere is just too much. 1 if they are working on a massive update then at least inform the community. 2 This is starting to feel like they might have just given up, which is sad cuz I am/was really enjoying this game and have/had high hopes for it.
Im gonna give them to Nov. 1. and if there is still no news Im asking for a refund and I think more people should do so as well.
they’ve been working on the game around the clock according to steamDB.
the branches they’re updating include: latest_release, latest_final, latest_preview_final , and latest_preview_release .
from what i’ve heard, these branches did not exist until after the crucible update.
given the sheer rate of the commits (usually every 0-3 hours), they clearly haven’t given up/abandoned this game in any way shape or form.
additionally, there has been communication on the next update, just not on official platforms unfortunately.
around 3 weeks ago, we got confirmation the next update will have multiplayer, and they explained some of the specifics.
they also showed off the new knuckle weapons as well as some of their runes.
now, here’s the thing – if they brought this stuff to steam announcements, we wouldn’t be having this conversation right now
Hi, these branches are updated automatically and periodically, so I doubt you can read our activity from the update times. But yes, we are always actively working on new content and would never think to abandon this game!
I know the steam foruns is filled with trolls, but the amount of people posting threads saying the game is dead in there because of the lack of info and updates, as well as a roadmap, is growing and probably costing you guys some customers.
Not only that, i dont know why you have allowed the EA game to be reviewed, wait for release, a lot of stupid people doesnt seen to know what EA is or what it is for, and even Moon Studios with 2 great games under their belt is being called scammers in there just because the entitled babies seen to think the EA game should be the same thing as a released one or that 3 or 5 months is enough to finish a EA game.
Sorry folks, we definitely need to improve community outreach a bit more.
We’re at the moment just incredibly busy developing the next update - Every now and then I drop into the Discord and give people some pointers, but since this is the official forum we should have definitely kept things updated here as well.
We’re pretty massively increasing the scope across the board, we’re finishing all the new zones, new quests, new cinematics, systems and so on.
Together with that, you folks probably heard the news about Private Division - they’ve been our publisher for No Rest for the Wicked, so we had to spend quite some time navigating this as well.
Internally we just think the best thing we can do is to deliver an insanely cool update that’s full of new stuff - We had discussions with some partners about how to announce this next update which meant that we had to keep more quiet than we usually do.
We’ll need to be heads down for a bit longer in order to whip this all into shape, polish and balance it and then go wild with it
once you guys boot up communication here, i think many would prefer if it were also available in the form of steam announcement posts, given it’s the platform everyone bought the game on. just my two cents.
Thanks for the update Thomas thats what we all needed to hear, and i do hope the commuication here on your official forum and steam forum will be better from now on and if you could tell us when the update will come approximately in 2 months or 4 monthes or more. thank you again.
While I know it’s cumbersome, I do recommend for anyone looking for updates to check their official Discord server and filter the messages from Thomas and Gennadiy. It’s not ideal having to search through multiple channels but it’s how things are at the moment.
Let me translate this for you. If you struggle with english, you can use Chat GPT or DeepL to translate. Posting in english helps everyone understand your point of view, so please use english in the future.
here the translation, hope it fits:
Hello, team. This game is truly excellent. I’m 50 years old this year and have been playing games for 42 years. No game has ever attracted me like this one. Especially the cats and dogs in the main city – you can pet them. My British Shorthair cream-colored cat passed away at the beginning of this year. Thankfully, there is a cat in the game that looks just like mine, even its meows sound similar. Every day I go to pet this cat, and it feels as if my cat is still alive… Will there be a pet system in the future? That would make it even more interesting. It would be great if you could integrate NPCs and cats/dogs with GPT-4.
So the developers of one large action RPG game, which had early access scheduled for November 15, have postponed the release to December 6, 2024, and as I heard, have disabled all their Twitter accounts and contacts. So what am I getting at? Let people work as much as they need to, no need to distract them. I really like Wicked. I’m ready to buy paid add-ons if they come.
