Tip: Mouse & Keyboard Dodge-Roll Setup for Better Flow & Accuracy(update 2)

Mouse & keyboard is very personal, and everyone’s different. I just want to share how I remapped mouse & keyboard to improve accuracy, timing, and overall flow. I set up these new controls, and it honestly didn’t take long before they felt a little bit more natural.

The key thing here is not having dodge-roll on the spacebar, because you dodge so often that using the spacebar or another keyboard key ends up feeling slow and clumsy. But have you noticed how Xbox/PS5 controllers have small buttons that are super easy to tap? Well—here’s the trick.

Set dodge-roll to RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON, and “walk to mouse” on the W key — yes, really. Try it. It creates a kind of natural flow.

Then you also set run to RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON. You simply hold RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON and point the mouse cursor where you want to run*(relaxing the keyboard finger.)* But remember to toggle run to OFF.

When you enter combat (or going close to a ledge!!!), just use W for slow walking. Then you can hold RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON periodically if you need to sprint(no need to release the W key), tap right mouse button to dodge-roll, and left mouse button to attack;

This is probably not some brand-new invention in control settings, just a tip from me.
