I don’t know if the developer read my proposal about adding a full-fledged throwing weapon or other similar posts on this topic, but what was added to the game with the last update, and in particular the throwing knife and axe rune, I think is a very dubious decision. The throwing knife and axe do almost no damage and require 25 concentration. I don’t know who would use this.Still, I suggest introducing a fully-fledged throwing weapon as a weapon for the second hand, similar to a bow or shield, knives, axes and spears. I think this will greatly diversify the game if Cerim has a dagger in one bunch and a throwing knife in the other or a one-handed spear and a throwing spear in the other, the same with axes.
throwing on runes would be cool. probably now throwing runes are quite good, bonuses after rune attacks and a ring for damage with a rune attack sound quite interesting. runes do not take up a hand slot, you can always use them, but I would like to slightly increase the damage of the dagger and, as you said, the throwing spear.
throwing does not replace the attack, but it can be a great addition
I had a throw rune on a faith pickaxe that launched the weapon as flaming boomerang and it was very powerful. Good base damage + burn damage + knockback + hit multiple enemies twice on the launch and return.
Indeed, it was my favorite weapon rune combo last year.
*Would’ve loved to be able to rename weapons at the time (would’ve been an easy case for Mjölnir).
