That’s exactly it. The beginning of the game doesn’t help new players figure out what kind of playstyle they enjoy, and the reason is simple: they can’t try out the weapons. At the start, no one really knows where to spend their points because they haven’t seen what weapons exist or get a sense of what builds are possible.
I’m a huge RPG nerd and myself even I waited a few levels before assigning any stats. The most common mistake? You start leveling up the stat for the first weapon that drops in your lap, then you switch weapons later, and boom, all those points are basically wasted.
And now devs thinking about rid the attribute system because “people don’t get it.” Of course we get it—it’s the same system we’ve been using for years. That’s not the problem.
