I was upgrading a weapon(rune-stricken wand) for my late game, and when I moved the item to the chest in my house, it simply disappeared. I invested several items to level it up, enchantments, various types of embers to level up enchantments, and even swapped out some other enchantments, only for it to vanish into thin air.

It only happened once with that specific weapon. The only memorable things about the situation that make it different from the usual occurrences in the game are that at that moment I was moving many items from inside the chest to outside and from outside to inside (using embers to modify enchantments and increase the stats I would use), and the specific weapon was equipped (I moved it directly from the equipped weapon slot to the chest) since I didn’t yet have the stats to use that specific weapon and was just preparing it for my endgame.
Will I be able to recover the weapon? I invested all the resources I’ve accumulated since the beginning of the game in it.

If you’re open for that kind of thing, there is a mod on Nexus that can spawn items for you.
Can you for good measure submit some files for Moon?
