agreed if they make good looking armors. so far they all just look like they woke up from nap and put whatever rag they found in the room or someshit.
Also im just wondering why our characters arm so goddamn long we look like one handed gibbon and face just look like that blob fish…game play is satifying but they really need to upgrade the designs alil…whoever this artist is he needs separate designer
As i understood it is mainly about armor, not changing a staff into a dagger.
and i have to agree. there are ways which allow players to do “fashion souls” without obscuring what armor they actually wear.
just imagine u only got the enchantment rolls for your built on a chest piece that looks like a pineapple, while you are wearing pants, gloves and helmet from a set that looks like a ninja. yeah that could be a funny meme, but wouldn’t u want that pineapple piece to look like a ninja too?
the idea to only apply armor transmogs from the same class seems ok to me. so if you wear 3 out of 4 pieces from a light armor set, u can make the other light armor piece that does not optically fit the set look like part of the set.
games that do this usually also require the player to either have at least once collected the item or craft a special transmog item. that way you would prevent that people just use endgame “looks” with lvl 2 chars.
and for other games it would not matter what type of gear is using the transmog skin, as PVP matchups are not balanced by player level, but by gear level. so if you wear mainly T3 heavy gear you would be only “matchmade” with another T3 gear player.
there are countless ways to adress that. and i too would love to look fashionable ingame without having to use gear whose enchant rolls do not fit my built.
the current state of armor is honestly so superfluous that i wouldnt really mind, but then i think to myself : If transmog was a thing then what would even be the point?
Right now, as soon as you get past the very early game, armor feels more like a vehicle for fashion than anything else. All of them have the same stats in each category (with ± rng roll), none of them have any difference, and all of them roll the same affixes.
I dont know whether id want more variety/difference across armors or just allow them all to remain samey so it doesnt hinder fashion.
I do think this whole topic is like at least a year to early to be discussed
this goes for half the suggestions in the forum tbh, but i think this one is actually a topic that can be reasonably discussed early
I can spend hours playing ‘dollies’ with my characters. It’s a game within a game!
I love all the armors sets that are currently in the game. But will game provide some way of transmoging armor and weapon appearance. Like it was done in assassin’s creed Valhalla.( in one the shops we were able to change desired weapons and armors appearance from theier initial one to ones we found so far) That way we can get desired look of character as well.
Before Thomas had said the answer was a “No” however, in recent Q&As, his answer has changed to a “Maybe eventually” due to the popular demand of the playerbase. It’s far from being one of their priority, but perhaps we could see it for 1.0 and beyond.
Great to hear, thanks
Im against it, this was raised in another thread too, problem for me is the pvp, if the game was coop and single player only i wouldnt see a problem here, Enshrouded has transmog and its fine, but with PvP its tricky, how will you know what you are fighting against, the guy could be all heavy armor and shows up wearing the cerim armor, looking like a hobo.
i honestly don’t think that should be an argument here. i can also not see their enchantments, runes or slotted gems or if their sword is normal white rarity or a masterwork.
and what would u do if u are in pvp and the other one has mesh instead of cloth armor? quickly switch to a hammer while the other player kills you?
i never understood that argument tbh.
As far as I’m aware, their plan for the PvP arena is for the player to chose a preset character and not use their own. I’m not 100% sure if this decision is set in stone, or if they plan on having both version.. But in these types of games, you’ll never have all the information from looking at someone.
They could also limit transmog to other pieces of the same class weight. Plenty of room for Transmog in here. Diablo 3 and 4 have PvP, they also have insane transmog.
Can we have eventual transmog in this game? There is no reason not to. Because I have the Cerim armour, and the idea that I only got to use it once feels so ridiculous, it’s a single player game, yet the item feels like some ultra rare mmo drop that drops once.
I’d like to wear a uniformed armour for the endgame, and at the least, I’d also like to toggle helmet off, something that is very very common in other games.
Is there any developer feedback regarding these features? Thanks
Hey there,
Luckily for you, we have a somewhat answer regarding this topic. The devs first said “No” to transmog. However, due to popular demand, they are looking into it and we may see transmog at some point, it however, isn’t a priority. So if we do, it would most likely be for 1.0 or beyond.
Hope this answers your question.

thanks for the reply!
I see, kinda sad it’s going to be a while till we see it. I hope the devs realize that fashion is part of the endgame of all rpgs
Even if not a permanent hide helmet option, I would really appreciate a hide helmet during cutscenes/character dialogue option.
I like to see my character’s face and expressions in a cutscene and dialogue.
Also throwing in my vote for transmog. When I play an RPG, I don’t want to look like a patchwork clown with heavily mismatched outfits or outfits that don’t fit the fantasy or identity that I want my character to have.
If I want to play a heavily magical build, I want to look like a wizard or sorcerer. If I want to play a rogueish or knight character, I want the ability to look the part as well.
Because weapons and armor have stats that need to be optimized for a build, you can end in a very unhappy circumstance of being forced into a look you don’t like.
This is even more important because the game by virtue of being a soulslike has high baseline difficulty that does not allow for stat optimization to be optional. Power budgets matter a lot more when enemies 2-3 shot you.
agreed, if transmog is not possible please consider allowing the change of color of gears.
Dyes will be a good solution yes, but if you do add transmog, only put this possibility in the same category : for heavy armors between plate armors, mesh with mesh, and so on. I don’t think transmog for weapons is possible, because weapons don’t have the same animations, even when from the same category. ((Btw this is crazy work devs, everytime i equip a new weapon, the moves and combos are different… crazy cool!)
Oh man this idea is so great!
The designs are so beauty to cant wear and look like you want!
I don’t think this is feasable for this game design. If you add transmog to the game you would practically need to only build one set of armor (per weight class if you want) and then you can just spend all your fallen embers on that and pretty quickly you’ll have the best build possible. I would like something like this but this would require lowering the fallen embers drops. If not, after not even the middle of the game you would already have one of the best loadouts in the game.
Hi devs, returning player here. Back when I bought the game during the launch of EA, the game had great potential but was very rough around the edges. After almost a year of not playing the game, I recently decided to give the game a second chance after hearing that there has been major improvements.
I am glad to see that most of the issues the game had at EA launch has been fixed, and I’m really having a lot of fun now.
Would just like to suggest a simple feature which is a cosmetic wardrobe. Similar to Diablo 4 where any armour/weapons you unlock, their appearance is unlocked within the wardrobe, and players can equip them over their existing armour/weapons. I think it is important for our characters to look cool while being powerful at the same time.
Edit:
Add a cosmetic wardrobe similar to Diablo 4 that lets you equip your armour/weapons appearance that you have unlocked. But turn off cosmetics during PvP(i.e. when you are hostile to another player)
