Yeah I’m considering putting it down for a week. They have enough feedback to cook again, why play before they address a lot of it? ![]()
I think theyll have fixes quick enough. They did for both their other major patches. Id advise taking a few days to take em to task and give em that feedback.
I think you’re right to say that you wouldn’t notice it in a fast build character. That sort doesn’t want to stand his ground anyway. I’m guessing you don’t use shields or heavy armor? Thats a fun build style and one that’s legit. I just want to have some clarification on how to use the other builds without feeling like this wasn’t how we were supposed to play.
I tried all three weight classes (fast/normal/heavy) and felt/found that:
-
Fast: is a lot like souls games since it relies on dodge (more forgiving than normal or heavy) hit and run tactics without exhausting your character as often as the other two classes. Feels more inline with the combat at this moment where we are slow and clunky making this way the most enjoyable/ fun for me to play since it doesn’t rely on parries. But you have to lose all or almost all armor to get to it in the early game. Overall feels like a trade off for speed and stamina by losing armor. (Although I didn’t see enemies dealing enough reduced damage while wearing armor so my pants and will where very much enough protection to defeat bosses).
-
Normal: Feels like it should be the middle ground for the gameplay being moderately maneuverable and provide some protection. In the actual patch I didn’t see this protection since I managed to get 2 hit in rags than fully equipped, thus making armor useless? (for normal class?). Also you lose a ton of stamina and the roll is not consistent, making thus dodging feel unrewarding (or underwelming some times) for what normal class should be (atleast this is my opinion). Maybe using shields and parry might benefit more? (since the parry is not very reliable atm can’t tell for sure)
-
Heavy: Defenetly not worth it in a souls like combat style/ very interesting for a new way to play. This class i very reliant on maxing poise and base armor, allows for a new move “Bash” (but it costs 60% of stamina, don’t think its worth it for the ammount of drawbacks it has). This class relies a lot on tanking and parry. Dodge is more of a meme since you’re very likely to get hit since you “fat roll”. I didn’t enjoy it because I couldnt get any value out of it against big guys (big enemies/big monsters) nor bosses but found funny that “sometimes” you can throw someone from a cliff or maybe get 1 big hit in but then you just get sold against numerous enemies and big guys and bosses. Overall not worth it but still it can be enjoyed for some people non the less.
Hope this can be usefull
