The game difficulty should be back to last year

Its simple. Last year game difficulty was just perfect. Didnt need to be changed. Now i dont even need to upgrade my weapon. In detail, mobs get easily staggered, have less health, bosses got easier, and we have enough parry window. you can beat them easily with any weapon drops on just, fields. Im intentionally not upgrading my weapons even though I want to because I want the same tension as last year while following the main storyline quests.
The point is, beating storyline is no challenging, even no need to farm! I think we should remember this is story based single rpg with some fine extra contents. I think main content should be more dynamic and challenging, motivating players to farm more gears, upgrade weapons. I mean, the map design, art, boss design, and some endgame contents, everything is so epic and why you guys ruin this fine art by just transforming the game into diablo? Maybe because of the bad reviews i dont know. But please, please reconsider about the difficulty devs. you guys know this game is an art.

I think its challenging, when not using an Over powered (OP) build and one-shoting everything.
After some tries with dodging and using weapons you know better how the avatar behaves. This is maybe also a reason why the game feels “easier” or smoother to play.
Cruisable is challenging with a non-OP build or pushing corruption.

Like it. But of course improvements and feedback is always welcome.

I do my first run through the game. I think it is pretty challenging, when you don‘t follow guides and just play the game however you want to. If you follow 1 shot guides, ofc its easy but that should get nerfed. not the bosses or enemies.

I do like minimal damage to enemies, and when they hit me Im almost dead.

Difficulty feels in a good spot at the moment. Saying the game becomes Diablo because of some minor changes to difficulty is just an argument made in bad faith.

Difficulty should never be there just for the sake of it; that’s how games die, even if some people don’t want to see that. Difficulty should fit within the context of the game. Right now, it does that pretty well. You are a warrior of a legendary culture in an unforgiving world. That means the game should be challenging, but you should be able to overcome, even outpace that challenge. The game nails that pretty well right now bar some bugs, and anything else would make the game worse in my opinion.

I just stick to maxed pestilence at this point. Other than that yea - you can microstagger everything to death. And parry works wonders in this game as it has always done (and significantly more attacks are parryable now, including animals and stuff).

For the record, @thomasmahler posted recently this on twitter - so fingers crossed it won’t take another year to implement. And that recent nerfs (microstagger and area-wide levels being the worst that ever happened to this game) will actually be reversible with whatever knobs/options that are planned.

Parry is way easier with shield, and staggering too. They need to either nerf the stagger or parry with shield. Makes it more challenging. Cause shield is defo easy mode!

To be fair, post breach I see/feel 0 difference between different weapons/shields parrying. But it’s quite enjoyable to be able to parry almost everything. Though there are few weird cases I can count on one hand that seem to have hitbox connecting issues.

I think its ok if you’ve full farmed and complete the build and one-shot everybody. What Im saying is you dont need any build to break through the storyline. You can just dodge, parry with whatever you want and what i felt was mobs die too early.

I follow no guides and even hate them.. I play just like you, too. And what i want is doing my best to clear the storyline. But now i shoud not upgrade gears to play it in tension. Mobs die too early, staggered too easy, bosses have absolute low health.

I agree man, the game feels sooooooooo much easier this time around and im not super happy about it.

I went in playing this game and said “i wanna build fist weapons with lightning” that was it. none of this OP builds people are talking about just general game knowledge. I beat each and every boss with 0 deaths, didnt even see most boss mechanics coz I 3-4 shot every boss with Rune “spirit Burst”, just needed 200 focus (50 focus cost) and GG. No challenge except for Crucible and now people complaining about that being too hard… get gud nerds haha

Valid points. Not everyone knows which rune makes 10x more damage as it should. Its clear that the game feels then easy. Additional balancing will come by time. We are at early access, so that could be normal.

This is also the issue of basically “just finished story” character vs. “level 30 character + level 16 gear with common sense bonuses” character.

The scaling after the story is finished takes into account only the former case (further regressed with recent difficulty nerfs). The latter case - you become a hot knife going through butter - whether it’s maxed 10/10 pestilence or crucible. I won’t event mention regular maps as they become an immortal one-hit journey for the most part.

Adjusting the difficulty is a detail, once the gameplay mechanics have been honed and the game is initially accessible to all, too much difficulty will hinder development. But initially players looking for more challenge can play without armor.
