Subtle parry inconsistencies on certain enemies

  1. Both Caelyns (bosses)

Note: the small regular trash variation doesn’t not have this issue, probably due to the size

Caelyn has one specific attack - an alien-like jaw thrust, propelling quite forward and with the bird moving forward as well. To parry this attack you have to

    • either keep the distance very carefully to ensure that - most probably - attack hitbox doesn’t activate behind you; as NRftW doesn’t have omni-directional parry like some other games (e.g. Sekiro)
    • or just stand with your back against any wall; then the attack is pretty trivial to parry as the wall inhibits the bird/jaw from propelling too far
  2. Trash full-plate knights longer jump attack

This attack is normally parryable if a knight wields a 2h axe or a long 2h sword - but is impossible to parry if a knight wields a 2h mace; got probably/somewhat forgotten somewhere down the line.

  3. Darak’s kick as opposed to other kicks

As kicks (e.g. twins boss, twins trash variations) are parryable, Darak’s kick should probably be parryable as well.

  4. Small jump-spear attacks

Regular trash mobs wielding spear have one basic attack that cannot be parried (tried with distance keeping and standing against the wall as well) - long poke starting with small jump. All other attacks (swings, pokes) are parryable.

  5. New trash mobs with tentacle attacks

The new big trash mob featuring tentacles have its tentacle attacks parryable (those parries can be tricky to pull, but they work) simiarly to Darak’s tentacle attacks (including his jump). But for the smaller new trash humanoid mobs featuring occasional tentacle swings (one horizontal after longer animation sequence, the other one shorter and vertical) are not parryable.

  6. Tower shields vs. everything else

Everything else - as every other weapon / shield class. Their recovery period / animation is ever slightly larger, making it impossible to for example parry triple vertical slam from Twins. The first two swings have shorter delay between each other and the shield is too slow so to speak.

No idea if it’s accidental or delibarate, so throwing it to the mix.
