"Styles Make Fights"

“A less-skilled fighter (me) with a specific, awkward style can neutralize a superior technician (game enemies), proving that matchups are not strictly decided by talent alone.”

Earlier this week I created a thread communicating that I had buyers remorse and purchasing no rest. But now having heard some feedback from other players I’m beginning to understand the mechanics behind this game. Having said that, I’ve never been a skilled player in just about every genre of games. But my go-to has always been ARPG (which I’ve been playing since 1999). And after playing for about a week of this isometric ARPG, having understood what it is exactly that I’m playing, this has to be one of the best games in this genre. I struggled early trying to adapt to the game play. And because of my understanding of my lack of skill I learned early that carrying was not going to be my style of play. I fare better dodging, but still it’s not a strong point for me. I realized now that that using a shield suits me best. And as Fortune would have it, the RNG started dropping a lot of armor pieces with thorns and I’m having a blast. I’m actually progressing. I’m spending most of my time just farming and I upping my XP.

The ultimate reason for this threat is too communicate to the deaths that they’re doing a great job. And I also want to encourage them to not following the steps of just about every a RPG in limiting creativity and landlocking players into playing the way that devs want them to play. You’re going to have players that love to parry, you’re going to have players that drive on dodging, and you’re going to have players who love to tank (sword & board), there is a place for every play style. And I already know what build I’m going to strive to create. It’ll be a shield wielding, ax throwing, Thorns, and bleed build. I can’t wait!“A less-skilled fighter with a specific, awkward style can neutralize a superior technician, proving that matchups are not strictly decided by talent alone.”
