Steam OS on PC maximum resolution only 1920x800?

I just built a computer running steam OS (couldnt wait for the steam machine) and cant increase the resolution in game past 1920x800. I have changed the maximum resolution allowed for the game in the game properties but it still wont allow me to increase the resolution. It works for other games but not No Rest For The Wicked, which really is the game i want the higher resolution for.

Is it possible to do this or is it some barrier for steamOS at the moment? I imagine that the steam machine (whenever it releases) would also be able to run the game at a higher resolution so it should be possible.

Does anybody else have this problem and know how to fix it?

Missing resolution option with Linux

After the Together patch today, I can no longer select 1920x1080 from the list of resolutions. It’s not even in the list, as if the screens not supporting it or something, which is not the case, and can go up to 4k if needed, but the 1080p is completely gone from the list. I was using it for the co-op beta, and for the previously live build, but since today, it’s no longer in the list of resolutions.
