I posted this on the Steam forums already, but it’s the only suggestion I have.
The Stamina bar can be easy to lose. Some thoughts:
- I’m on a 70" OLED. At that size, the stamina bar move several feet in the matter of a couple frames (60fps), from dodging, camera zooming out or in, camera shake, etc.
- Certain environments make it difficult to see. Moonlit, rainy stone is the most common culprit
- When it’s empty, the background is quite opaque, and easily glanced over.
I’m gonna throw some personal thoughts below
Oh and maybe parrying projectiles too? That sounds fun
I agree, if you don’t look closely , you lose sight of it very quickly in heated moments.
A option to make it the color you want would be great.
I think I understand and appreciate the idea. Drawing the stamina bar in the game world can help keep the players on the action. In addition, keeping track of it is a skill that can practiced.
however, while I think for some elements this can work, but it’s much easier for human eyes to glance at a fixed point. This is why fighting games have always kept meters stationary. It’s less of a barrier to immersion than a hud element darting around the game world. With that said, if the barrier is the goal, like a skill to be learned as part of the game, I super respect that too!~
