I swear to god its impossible to stagger an enemy using gauntlets/claws/fist whatever you want to call them. Im rotating between gossamer gauntlets and cursed unguis and I dont think I ever actually staggered an enemy (by staggerring I mean breaking their poise so they get on their kneels and I can unload all over their anuses), no matter their size - wolves, huge pole guys, EK… (okay I actually staggered EK by abusing determination ring and spamming buster rift rune, which is NOT fun gameplay and ring of determination should 100% be nerfed/changed)
It does seem pretty odd that the class archetype all about kicks and punches to the face is one of the worst ones to stagger enemies.
Right now how most gauntlet builds work is either by abusing busted lifesteal draintank to deal with the extended animation lock and lack of poise damage, or to not bother with regular attacks and just use the busted ring to spam busted rune attacks instead.
Thanks, yeah I have those. I was wondering if the Cursed Unguis may be better. Do the normal attacks stagger well with the Shellguard gauntlets or is it just Buster Rift? I know Buster Rift is good I use it on all my gauntlets, lol. Just trying to improve the stagger.
