Runes, Housing and Crafting Revamp [Tooltips]

Originally some bullet points I’d setup for a deepdive video on how to improve many sections of the game. I simply don’t have the resources to make at the moment.

Instead, I’d like to post them here to get a conversation started our these themes/suggestions.

Improving Enchanting via QoL:

  • Runes = Unique inventory - Album/Book (Hearthstone).
  • Infuse Reroll (using same ingredient/resource).
  • Empowered Ichor used for “cursed” enchants.
  • Fallen Ember used to reset object to “normal” status.
  • Disassemble/Disenchant Gear.

Enchanting 2.0:

  • Runes = Album/Book.
    (Hearthstone) + Ability to Dust Excess to craft new Runes.

  • Runes have “Toggles”.
    (Fire Enchant = 1.2 Focus Drain per second instead of 50 Focus cost)

  • Runes with toggles can be mass turned off via “sheath” command (Hold “B”).

New Categories for Runes:

  • Runes can “be” Passives.
    (Shield/Gloves: ["Parry to deal x dmg/freeze/burn/ect])
    (Helm: [Insight: Read Enemy Attacks])

  • Runes can “be” Finishers (attack combo).
    (Throw) [No longer costs Focus]

  • Runes can “be” Signature Attacks.
    [Typically replaces your heavy/charge attack]

  • Higher level weapons/gear have more infusion slots (+higher durability)

  • Infusing powers up the bonus, the more of that resource you infuse towards it’s “max” (no RNG)

Improving Crafting via QoL:

  • Exp for crafting.
    (Guild Wars 2)

  • Reduce Smelting Timer / Give us Techtree to craft or buy more efficient smelters.

  • FFXIV styled Crafting Minigames for mass production and/or perfect crafts.

Improving Housing via QoL:

  • Toggle Lights (On/Off/Auto)
  • Wall Decor (chests)
  • Pets

Housing 2.0:

  • Grid and/or Object Snap.

  • Fullscreen “Mini-map”.
    (Treasure Map Aesthetic) Edit Mode.

  • Build your own Houses.
    (Edit interior but structure limits?)

Multiplayer (Leaderboard) Solutions Vs. Single Player Dupe:

  • Login to official servers (Path of Exile “Leagues”)

  • Single Player (Realm specific Leaderboards)

  • You could also mimic the Speedrunning Community and simply use their format/resources to manage cheaters trying to lead your leaderboards.

The starting ship battle also needs a bit of work, but that’s a much larger conversation regarding established lore and long term story elements that us players aren’t privy to at the moment.
