REQUEST: Revert housing access to Story Progress

Winnick makes a note in the cutscene after the ‘Of Rats and Raiders’ quest along the lines of “You may now make Sanctuary your home.”

I remember that housing used to be unlocked after this quest, but was changed. This line now makes no sense, and honestly the gravity of being granted permit to own a home in Sanctuary should be tied to saving the city.

With the increased difficulty of the ‘Breach’ update, I was level 18 when I completed the quest as The Black Trench is a high level zone, which also means that I had 3 homes bought way before Winnick tells me to ‘Make Sanctuary my home.’

Is it possible to revert this change? To make the entire quest and cutscene impactful? It seems silly but it honestly removed me from being immersed in the quest.

Yeah I agree, now that chests have more space with 99 stacks and that the rookery lodging has two chests (one at the bottom of the stairs) new players don’t need to get a house so soon anymore

no. that will remove the ability to get refineries quick, and youll be stuck an hour+ without the ability to upgrade gear.

Exactly, if you need to tie story impact, just have them gift you the house next to the Rookery ladder instead as part of the story and leave the graveyard, manor, and slums housing as purchaseable options. Or for more story impact, make the Manor house at the square the one they gift you with the quest while the others remain purchaseable.
