Replace gem with another gem on items would be awesome

We already have that this patch (finally). You can extract runes then place them on items and you can override any rune now

Read that as rune. Ignore me.

Yeah it would be nice to override infusions as well to help with progression without just outright replacing

IDK about replacing. I view exalting as the cherry on top to “finish” a weapon because it fixes infusions/weapon stats (well i guess they’re all the same now), etc.

I was thinking more along the lines of, hey I got “X” drop and want to use it in the meantime. Otherwise we’re just running around with naked gear waiting for “the” right infusion. It’s EA new things are added we want to test but beyond that just character progression. It feels shitty to rationalize I need to start from scratch when I’ve invested so many resources in an item while leveling.

End game, sure. I’m sure we’ll be sitting on more resources than we can spend but it’s about having a smooth gameplay experience throughout the leveling process.
