Quiver AoE Feedback

One thing I saw on Steam forums that I agree with and wanted to echo here is that the AoE visuals are really extreme.

I think it would be better if the visual was more oriented around the arrow and the target … if the arrow achieves something like chain lightning then maybe cover the screen more with the lightning effects at that point.

The reasoning I have for this is two fold:

  • they don’t really seem to be an AoE weapon in the way the visual implies. It took my friend and I a little while before we realized that if there’s any friendly fire coming out of that effect it’s negligible to the point of not being there.
  • it also makes working together on a target a bit harder for the folks using melee because they’re being blinded by the effect visuals.

Also, for these large AoE effects dealing with things like fire or lighting (if they remain in some form), they should really have an impact on the lighting system. Lightning lights up the night sky afterall. If I go into a cave and have this big lightning visual effect, it should briefly light up a fair bit of the area around where it impacted. This would also (potentially) open up a new way to traverse dark caves (chucking arrows like flares to see) which I think is kinda cool.

The bow changes and quivers barely made it into the beta. The people responsible for those didn’t have enough time to look over those and make adjustment yet.

Good to know the VFX are more placeholder. Hopefully this is still good feedback for the VFX I’d like to see :slightly_smiling_face:

Just my 2 cents, I like the current bow + quiver VFX.
