While looting the pestilence boss I press F12 to stop recording on OBS. Then my Character froze and I couldn’t perform any actions. I logged out and logged back in. My character model had changed, utility runes gone. Relogged again and it was fixed. I have partial footage if need be.

Picking up loot from Pestilence bosses causes your character to get stuck in the prison soap position. You cannot perform any action and can only log out. Upon logging back in, all your utility runes are wiped and 2 utility slots closed, leading to loss of dignity and possessions.
Oh, your character also turns into a blond dude with an earring.
This also happens while picking up tree saps.

The bug does not occur when I have no utility runes equipped.
As soon I equip Return rune, it happens on the next log in.

Just tried pick up drops and my guy froze like this, I cannot perform any action.
When I click with my mouse outside the game window and then move back into the game window the drop on my right spins while moving the mouse.
Did my controls move to the drop instead of my character?
Trying to quit to menu completely freezes the game.
Logging back into game I can mine the resource again.
And I’m not missing anything and did not alter my character.

While playing in my friend’s realm, all 4 utility rune slots locked. I reset the game, and I only had two available. All equipped utility runes were deleted, including the Blink rune. The issue started since the most recent hotfix on 1/30/26-1/31/26. I had talked to the Watcher, and the bug triggered.
I was incredibly discouraged, but I decided I’d just try my luck at grinding for another one. My friend lent me our groups last Blink rune, and I went to the Crucible. After a successful run or two, I ended up getting stuck in an endless looting animation. After trying to figure out how to get unstuck, I gave up, and reloaded from main menu. When I loaded back in, my rune slots were reset AGAIN, and all the runes were deleted.
I lost two Blink runes that I can’t consistently purchase from a shop, and I don’t feel like it’s safe for me to continue playing the game without risking our groups rare loot.

Bumping this one. Same keeps happening to me since last patch.
In Multiplayer Realm > Endless Loot animation on picking up random drop > quit to menu > Continue > Utility Runes gone, Utility Rune slots locked again, Hunger Limit reset to 5

The main issue is the player getting stuck in a pick-up animation, having to go to main menu and coming back into the game losing all previously equipped utility runes (see link below at ~32s in the video). Furthermore the rune slots themselves are deactivated and I had to re-buy the runes aswell as the rune slots (and also the hunger slots for some reason) with Plague Ichor at the Watcher NPC. I have had this bug about 4 times now. 3 times it started with me trying to pick up an item and getting soft-locked as seen in the video I uploaded to the linked google drive (No rest for the wicked bug report - Google Drive). Similarly these problems (or parts of them) have also been described in this post: Picking up item softlock and here on reddit: Reddit - The heart of the internet . As previously mentioned one of the rune slot losses occured without the softlock animation bug randomly as I restarted the game and joined my world. Love the game so far and the way you are developing it in close contact with the community. Sadly this bug is currently happening often enough for me to stop playing until it is fixed - especially when I need to rebuy the slots and the runes, which are not always all available at the enchanter NPC. Blink, heal and recall (I belive is what its called) are the runes I always use. the last one is interchangeable. Thank you Silas.

In my animation getting stuck on resource pickup, I did not have blink. But I also didn’t loose my runes.
So you loose all runes when you get stuck like this and have blink?

Yes. Maybe it has nothing to do with blink then. It should still be tested if it has something to do with the rune. Maybe there is some part of the animation that is still running and is conflicting with the pickup animation? That being said there has been one instance (of 4 bug instances total) when I relogged normally into the game (so the pickup animation didn’t cause it) and lost all my runes. Also what I don’t get is that I lose the rune and also the hunger slots (I am usually reset to 5/10). I had to go to the Watcher Npc and rebuy the slots with Plague Ichor everytime the bug reset my runes.
Resurrecting this bug with my report 
I just had the similar experience. My character was stuck at looting position and the face changed from sad Keanu Reeves to some yellow haired guy like the above

My Utility Runes went missing and when I checked the rune vendor, they were locked.
I had to see the old man NPC at the rookery and pay Plague Ichore again to unlock them. I added my runes and went to crucible and later logged off.
Some time later when I opened the game again, the runes were gone. Locked again.
This happened all in one night. It started to get buggy when my character was stuck in looting animation and the model changed.
Just after done pestilence boss in the Marinwood, my utilitary runes disapaired. When I came back to the game all my utilitary rune slot were empty as if I never used pague ichor on it..

Yeah same had this bug 2 times happend to me
did not have blink rune equipped when this happend 2nd time
