My attacks even when I’m in heavy armor with some poise increasing stats and even the smallest amount of damage will knock me out but when Hit an enemy with a fully charged attack they keep going through with their animations. This doesn’t feel great or responsive when I hit someone with a great sword charged and they just poise through it and kill me with a combo.
Edit: Id like to be more specific after playing till endgame - I think the problem I was having is more of a early to mid game problem. What does this mean? I think it means that early on enemies just have to much poise protection and too much poise damage. Later i can break poise and not be staggered by dmg a lot more. Im not sure exactly how enemies stats scale but if they could lower their poise and poise dmg and slowly scale it into endgame it might help that really discouraging feeling in the beginning.
For reference im using a two handed twinbill late game with poise while charging on equipment in full plate agile armor
This is absolutely pissing me off. This is clearly a co-op optimization so that 4 players don’t all charge attack a staggered boss or elite, but it feels like no one tested this in solo play. It is instantly registered in the brain as cheap trick to raise difficulty floor
We can only hope that it is not their design intention to design around coop primarily and screw over solo players or design around Unspoken difficulty players.
Prior to this latest patch, poise and parry were more or less fine, they could have nerfed either parry focus gain or stun duration but not both (prefer they nerf focus gain over stun duration), and poise felt fine outside main mobs.
Then they went and massively overbuffed poise for everything while player poise stayed paper thin even on plate unless using a shield block.
Yeah, the Moon Studios needs to find some identity here cause the combat was far more haptic pre-Together. I find myself having to dodge dodge dance dance revolution cause the upside is just better.
I have found that the chipped granite can help alot with this. Builds up enemy poise much faster on any weapon. As for player poise - I think some changes occurred that were not intended, we will likely see a smaller combat patch after coop hotfixes cools down.
