Pestilence rewards require more accurate rewards

After clocking in 303.5 hours and 86+ hours specifically on the Breach update**, I wanted to share some feedback and a suggestion based on my experience:

Observation:

  • During repeated runs in Pestilence Outbreak areas, I was focused on locating blueprints for armors, many of which I have yet to discover.
  • I assumed that outbreak zones were the most efficient method to farm these rare items.
  • However, after several days of grinding, I found no new blueprints, which became quite frustrating.
  • This led to the realization that the current item reward system lacks targeted farming options, making the process feel overly reliant on luck.

Suggestion:

  • Introduce a burn mechanic where players can sacrifice specific items to influence outbreak rewards.
  • Example Mechanic:
    • Burning 3 or more blueprints** (or similar-category items) before starting or enhancing a Pestilence Outbreak would:
    • Increase the chance of blueprint drops.
    • Possibly grant multiple blueprints as a reward, tied to the category or quantity of items burned.
    • Provide a more controlled and rewarding farming method for players looking for specific gear or item types.

This mechanic could:

  • Make the grind feel more rewarding.
  • Allow players to strategically farm for the items they need.
  • Add a layer of intentionality and engagement to the outbreak system.

So, I don’t play much Pestilence content because I don’t find it that interesting, but it’s probably not my thing.

So, I’m fine with anything that makes this content better. Share your ideas.

I agree on the problem of not having ways to target loot. Not so much on the solution.

Right now with lack of end game mechanics, basically 2- I see why they just RNG most things and then maybe later other mechanics get another loot that is almost an “exclusive” to them.

Still Pestilence just does feel meh with the rewards so to just make them a little more exciting I think adding a RNG loot that you can see what it will be from the map like you can with Bounties would be great. Like maybe you only have time to do one zone, and just seeing the map and noticing that one has a weapon rewards/or recipe/or crafting mats of some sort would guide you and give the feeling of getting what you “worked” to get.

In the end, more or some dedicated loot would help, I think.

Yeah, right now the only rewarding aspect of Pestilences is the upgrade items for exalting.
