Locking dailies behind pestilence clear is bad design

Doing your daily and weekly bounties is currently locked behind clearing the pestilence from the zone where your target bounty would be located.

This forces the player to have to clear the zone in order to do their bounties. World cleanse is also currently bugged, at least for me. What if you don’t care about the pestilence? It becomes a forced and tedious interaction.

I see no reason why the bounty mobs could not spawn in the Pestilence zones asides from location conflicts with pestilence bosses which don’t even spawn until you have cleared the zone anyway.

This is something many games like Guild Wars 2 had to work around.
*The “Living World” is an interesting concept but often gets in the way of the player.

IE: Players want to do something in a zone but it’s not in the right “condition” to do so.

Perhaps Outbreaks and the Dailies need a revamp?
*What if both reset at the same time each day?

While this would allow dailies to work with outbreaks.. what about zones that have a daily but aren’t infested yet.

Should a daily just go away if you cause an outbreak?

The “solution” from GW2:

  • Quests, along with their objectives (in an area) are automatically updated and accepted by simply entering the zone.

  • Rewards are given directly to the player (If inventory is full, goes to “inbox/storage”)

  • The “World events” are triggered at specific server times each day.

  • Failing to progress a zone results in a shift in occupation and can be rewarding in it’s own right by changing the “potential” rewards

Reference for those interested:

ignore my ignorance but isn’t it possible to merge those daily/weekly event with pestilence in terms of coding like is it really imposible to be able to complete those missions even if the area includes pestilence? it feels like doable but idk about coding/programming side..

edit: I also complain about this barrier I would love to complete my dailies/weeklies with pestilence together (if the area infected ofc) it would keep me flow in my playing sessions
