Pestilence system needs a LOT of work

PLEASE make it so you don’t have to kill every single enemy in the area to make the boss spawn. I’m getting crazy in mariner’s keep to find every single enemy and I feel like I’ve explored everything but I’m still missing like 20% of the pestilence bar.

PLEASE make it like you only need to kill something like 75% of the enemies to make the boss spawn.

And a questions for those in the endgame. How does each item correspond to an increase in pestilence level? Does every item give you the same amount of increase in the bar? Or do sinues and pestilence items like that make it increase more?

Funny thing is, you don’t need to kill ALL enemies. You already only need to kill 65% of the enemies in the zone to make the boss spawn. We’ll reduce that to 50% and have local thresholds for the various zones in future updates.

Torn Resources are the most efficient to burn and they’ll give you the least amount of corruptions.

I don’t know if it’s intended, but you can also just wait for enemies to respawn while doing something else, and killing them will also count towards clearing the pestilence.

You think is possible to decrease the time between the pestilience spawns in the zones and maby increase the amount of mats to exalt stuff etc?

Whaaat? I kid you not I’ve explored everything in Mariner’s keep but I’m still missing 20-25% of the pestilence bar. Is it possible that because I’ve killed some of the enemies in the area before spawning the pestilence, that the game thinks that I still need to kill those? I don’t know what to do.

Cool to know about torn resources. And what is the conversion with normal items? Is it based on the monetary value of the item?

Thanks for answering btw!

Edit: Did my third pestilence run. It really seems like something is off. I feel like I need to clear the whole zone to complete the bar. It certainly doesn’t feel like 65%.

Whether it’s 65% or 50% the zones differ in their walking distance and time between enemies. This causes noticeable differences in the experience between Mariner’s Keep and Nameless Pass. Maybe adjust it to be 50% up until a hard cap of X mobs (or mob health).

Yeah I’m just doing a nameless pass pestilence zone and there are a LOT of mobs here so it will take forever. I’ve started from the shallow, then mariners keep and then glades and they were pretty doable. But thinking about doing it in marin woods with all that verticality sounds a bit like chore. Guess time will tell

I’m also sitting at about ~25% remaining in mariner’s keep. Was there a new hidden area added with this update? I notice that the shallows is also highlighted purple on the minimap but that’s considered a different zone…

Edit: I think I figured it - it calculates based on the mob density that SHOULD be there, so if you kill some things before spawning the pestillence you need to wait for some things to respawn. Seems like a small logic oversight.

Please no.

Pestilence disables bounties and hunts. You have to clear an area before bounties show up. I don’t want to be constantly forced to clear Pestilences to do my daily bounties. This also ruins the costly benefit of having to do 2 COMPLETE Crucible runs to have the 20 gloam offerings to clean up Sacra from Pestilence via the Seneschal.

If anything, just increase the drop rates of marrows and husks, sinews seem to be dropping fairly fine. That way it feels like clearing a Pestilence is substantial.

Also visually, I don’t want the pestilence to be constantly up. The core maps are gorgeous to look at and I don’t want to spend most of my time in a purple haze version of them. Keep them rare but easily summonable if you want to do them.

That is what it felt for me too. Because some of the areas that I clear before starting the pestilence don’t seem to have mobs respawn so maybe that’s that
