One button to sprint, jump, climb, and dodge feels at odds with the precision that's advertised in the tagline

The movement in the game doesn’t feel very precise when the A button is responsible for so many actions, especially since the timing for those actions is sometimes up to the player (dodging) and sometimes isn’t (jumping and climbing). I know there are limited buttons on a controller and I’m not sure how this would best be improved, but it’s just my impression that the player has less fine control over their movement than they should.
