Nothing happens with the dog after Nameless Pass/Black Trench

I had a bug that I haven’t seen anywhere. After the big Act 1 ending (which was the end of the story after update 2.0) I Went to the square, heard Will’s speech and the dog got a big question mark on top. I kept padding the dog over and over, and nothing happened. I heard that it was supposed to take me to a place with Will and Randolph (?) but that never happened.

Luis, I’m a player and have been looking through the discord for any solutions to still trigger the dog. More players have been having the trouble you also have now.

You can try:

  • relog

  • walk to the place the dog will go, then go back or relog. If you don’t know where,

    it is next to a large chest near the fountain. The chest will be inside a small piece of castle

  • see if any other action triggers the dog starting to walk after petting. One discord user reported the dog going normally suddenly after being static all the time.

Hopefully you can get this resolved!

I was able to keep going with the story but in what I found a random and frustrating way. Since the dog wasn’t moving after pet him several times, I went through every single character. Then I went to every building, and inside of a house a new character told me to go the the War room. That is where finally I was able to keep with the main story.

My game froze on two occasions right after a couple of cut scenes. I do not know what is meant by “grabbing the files” for bug reporting. I’m not really sure if it is a bug or not. I found the files, but I just don’t what to do with them. I took screenshots of the two instances when it happened. Also, my wired controller was randomly shutting itself off while playing, usually in the inventory menus. I’m not really sure what the deal is there either.

If you ever have to make another bug report, check this: If you cannot create a bug report due to the check failing on how to circumvent the automatic check (sorry it is what it is right now).

As for those files, take a look at the instructions here: How to Properly Report Bugs!

But in short, for a case like yours we need your

  • Datastore
  • Player.log
  • Player-prev.log

Upload them to a service from where you can share them like Google Drive, OneDrive, or WeTransfer and link it here.
