My thoughts and ideas for the future

After finishing the campaign and playing some endgame content, here are my thoughts and ideas for the future, just as a bit of brainstorming.

But first of all, thank you, Moon Studios. I truly enjoyed every corner of the current update.

Regarding affixes, I’d love to know all possible outcomes from Fallen Amber before using it. Right now, I’m re-rolling blindly and don’t know what build to aim for. After watching Thomas interview with Zizaran, I didn’t even know there was an affix for more damage based on durability!

Update: I read there will be a library, so this should be covered

One thing I’m really missing is the ability to hide the UI, having a shortcut for that would be great. There are some stunning in-game moments where I’d love to take a clean screenshot for my Windows login wallpaper.

Not being able to perform a backstab while crouched behind an enemy was a bug (angle). But now, backstabs are really easy to pull off even during combat. Personally, I think they should be easier to do in stealth mode, but once a fight starts, it should be more difficult. I believe even before the first hotfix, there was a mechanic where enemies would turn around more often if you stayed behind them too long, that was really cool.

Update: The custom rules Thomas mentioned could solve this

City projects should be much more expensive. Right now, you can “rush” everything in just a few sessions, and I didn’t really get to enjoy the lower level shops. It’s not a huge issue for me currently, but I’m thinking about the future, especially with multiplayer in mind.

Update: The custom rules Thomas mentioned could solve this

For exploration, I’d love to see one-time special chests hidden in well-concealed locations, each containing a unique armor piece,or a special piece of furniture, or something equally meaningful. This would really encourage players to explore. Maybe instead of giving the item directly, the chest could reward you with the blueprint, so if you sell or lose the item by mistake, you can still craft it later. Right now, it’s a bit underwhelming to find a cleverly hidden chest only to receive “standard loot”.

Looking ahead, if jobs or professions are added, it would be great to see players specialize, like someone getting more wood as a lumberjack, or another being better at fishing, etc. Personally, I’d prefer not to have a single character master every job. Maybe you could specialize in a few jobs up to max level, and then the other jobs up to a lower level. That would encourage communication and item sharing in multiplayer: “He’s a better smith,” or “She gets better food buffs.” I was also thinking about a chef class. Maybe they could occasionally cook two dishes instead of one, with the chance increasing as their level improves. Their food could also offer better healing or stat boosts. And of course, always having a signature on crafted food or weapons, like “crafted by Coxinigo.” We actually discussed this on Discord and Thomas liked the idea.

A few extra ideas:
Sitting in the canteen or on any chair in the world.
Adding paintings or wall candles in your house.
Having a pet (cat/dog/crow) always waiting at home.

I know this might be controversial since you’ve said you don’t want a difficulty selector, but unfortunately the update was review-bombed for being “too brutal.” Maybe you could keep the current difficulty and add a Hard Mode later on.

Update: There will be realm tiers

One last thing to mention, I’d love to participate in future PTR builds and continue providing feedback to the team.

Thanks once again for creating such a great game <3

Running out of food:
Allow players to cook lower-tier dishes using fewer ingredients. For example, I have plenty of tomatoes and potatoes, but not many herbs, so why not let me cook something with just one mushroom? Or add a system like Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom, where you can combine a bunch of ingredients without needing a specific recipe

Running out of space:
I was thinking about being able to buy a “Whisper Chest” for our home, so we can store items there directly from whispers. It could be a whisper upgrade, but to be honest, I feel like this issue mostly affects early-game players, so making it a whisper upgrade might come too late.

There are other ideas I shared here: Asmon's stream feedback
But here’s the summary:

  • Fallen Embers could have a distinct color , like legendary items, so they feel more rewarding.
  • Understand Fallen Embers. (A tutorial that forces you to reroll 1 item after obtaining your first one could be helpful)
  • Poise doesn’t seem to be working in the current build, but this has already been discussed on Discord. I believe Hotfix 4 will address it.

Cascaseno added:

  • Chest bright even if empty and that’s confusing.
  • You can’t use click to select on quick menus (Q) and (F).
