I understand why the game automatically transitions into climbing when approaching a ledge with a ladder, bushes, or similar climbable elements.

However, I personally find it unfortunate that I can no longer jump off these edges. I would really like to have the choice or option to perform a longer jump in these situations.

At the same time, when I am walking (not sprinting), I would prefer not to immediately fall off a ledge.

An edge safety mechanic, even with just a very short timer, would benefit the game in my opinion.

Admittedly, after many hours I don’t necessarily need it anymore. However, during my first ~100 hours, I often found myself wishing for exactly this kind of mechanic.

Sprint vs. Climbing (old behavior)

But:
I would explicitly like to have the
old behavior back .

  • Previously:
    → When sprinting toward a ledge, the character would jump

  • Currently:
    → The character gets “stuck” and starts climbing automatically

  • While sprinting, the character should be able tojump over edges (as it used to be)

  • Or ideally, this should be anoptional setting in the options menu

  • Edge safety should only apply when walking, not sprinting

  • This ensures the mechanic does not interfere with gameplay

  • Only a very short activation window, so it does not feel overly safe or restrictive
