When looting and discovering new area I still miss a good feeling of finding items. In other games there is always an adrenalin kick I call it, when finding a nice rare item or at least a nice high rolled entchantment. I have that feeling when finding new secret paths or places. Like the egg boss or finding out where this not accesable ladder is.
i think thats partly because you get lots of items from enemies, chests, quests, random loot and others like fishing that you dont rly feel one item is special anymore. on top of it they removed the yellow accentuation of a max roll enchant so now you fill your inventory and then you go 10min through your inv and compare it with the enchant list to see if anything good is in there.
on top you have the facets which are so much rng that basically hitting the one out of 20 (idk) different facets is not rly high to get an “adrenaline kick” when an item actually drops.
think they rly messed up the itemization with the new patch, although it seems theres more options now.
still the overall feeling is worse for me. not bad, but worse than before.
Seeing your post, maybe they could actually make facets of different tiers, quality or rarity? Some of them without downsides at all. Some with downsides only. Like reforges in Terraria? Without goblin tinkerer tho, we already can move and roll enchantments. But with the ability to get better or specific facets with some kind of crafting profession level, or more resources spent like in another idea on this topic someone suggested here?
And add the ability to see how far the enchantment is from it’s maximum roll without using embers.
oooh so thats what the weird number is when i use a radiant ember? i always wondered what it was, but it made no sense to me at all, so i kinda ignored it. thanks for the info
Also dont Unterstand all these artificial punishments with plaqued (purple) items. I spent time to search, to craft, to improve my items and my character and then I see a red big downgrade. Would like to be proud of my build.
But then, 20% reduced max health, Focus, or stamina, reduced healing, increased damage taken oder increased weight.
What? I spent time to get a big downgrade. That doesnt feel good. I am playing to improve and not the reverse thing.
Yes, I Unterstand the Intention of meta builds which uses reduced max Health with low health entchantments to increase 100% rolls. But I dont care. Happy to see them on YouTube. But its not my style.
Yeah before the first time I used it I thought it would exalt my item. I chose 10% crit chance enchantment and it said that I could upgrade it from 90% to 100% of effect. Nothing changed obviously, since 10% crit chance is already maximum. That’s how I wasted it.
A lot of downside enchantments can be negated/ignored or even used positively in some builds. Like this one case you already stated. And I think all of these should be useful or at least easily negatable. But enchantments like load equip decrease just take and don’t add anything. I thought about it when I got that one 2h weapon that scales it’s damage off your equipment weight. Facets that increase item weight look good with this weapon. Negative enchantment could too.
whaaaat? why does it show 90% → 100% when it doesnt do anything? WHAT? i dont get that at all. that has to be a bug no? i thought it shows 100 when ur at max then. so not even checking with the embers is of any use?
Well, lowest roll on crit chance is 3% and that should account for 10% of enchantment power. 20% probably doesn’t change the number too. But there’s a formula behind it, and some rounding takes place too. Maybe this rounding is only for interface I dunno.
Dont like to be forced to take entchantments which I dont want. If a build is nicely working with a downgrade which strenghten it at the end, thats ok.
These downgrades should also be options like the other 4 on a plaqued item. And not a Must to choose. I choose cholera or pest, because for my build I dont need any of them. The same for facets.
